Lots Of Hearing

Yet

Hearing is at loss

For what I perceive

That I think I hear

Turns out not to be

The speakers intent

Rather filtered through

A small fleshy canal

Hammered immediately

On to an anvil before it

Stirs up memories held

In gray spongy software

From a lifetime of

Repeated indoctrinations

Mixed in with content

Tone and delivery

Timing, circumstance

And a whole range of

Surface and buried

Feelings and experiences

No wonder I am unable

To hear anything

It is so noisy in hear
