Over an event that occurred

Some 24 score years ago

With an enemy now an ally

Then just 9 years in the making

Which is when it should have stopped

Depending on each other again

Probably to shore up each other’s

Pathetic pink power of patriarchy

When was when way more than half of the

Population was yet independent enough

To vote or own property due to

Different reproduction parts

Epidermis hue and first residency

Still the Proletariat gets to

Celebrate “their” independence

Not because they are free, freewill directed

Bright individual sparks of the divine

Rather unconscious ambulatory corpses

Indoctrinated into believing they are “free”
