Infinite Affinity
.
I have an affinity
For infinity
Causing insanity
To my reality
Held back
Only by gravity
Infinity
Not exactly a water
Cooler conversation
Much easier to
Bitch about the “boss”
Or a crabby customer
Tumultuous traffic
Than to carry on a
Divine dialog
Perhaps, because
Heaven and Hell
Seem implausible
Just based on
Unidentifiable locations
And help from John Lennon to
“Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky”
That and a little
Cosmic introspection
By turning the Voyager’s camera
Back on ourselves to
Reveal “The Pale Blue Dot”
“The Pale Blue Dot is a photograph of Earth taken Feb. 14, 1990, by NASA’s Voyager 1 at a distance of 3.7 billion miles (6 billion kilometers) from the Sun.
The image inspired the title of scientist Carl Sagan’s book, “Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space,” in which he wrote: “Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us.”

“Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us.”
– Carl Sagan
Taken nearly a quarter of a century ago, seen as a colorful speck of dust, with even smaller more colorful specks riding on it.
Indoctrinated over nonexistent time to, “aimlessly and blindly believe, that all of this, is in the hands of some spooky, incompetent father figure who doesn’t give a shit” – George Carlin
We concern our selfs, our disparate and collective selves with the most mundane minutia of which is fundamentally useless towards any possible survivable evolution. In the abysmally empty vastness of space. In a singular galaxy, that seen from a distance of other splattershot and remote galaxies, looks like a speck of dust itself.
“Infinity is so big, that everything that has ever happened, on earth in the exact same order, down to………. that … pause has happened an infinite number of times, all through out the universe.
Everywhere in space, there is a you, making the same colossal f**king errors, that you’ve made your entire life.
So if anybody ever tells you, you can do better. Go, apparently not.”
That’s infinity.”
– Joe Rogan
One would think with that underlying awareness, we could all just get along. Fortify our chances of continuing the game we are playing. Certainly with an infinite amount of less hatred, fear and violence. To some other end than just recycling as a different speck of dust.
“The heaviest burden:
“What, if some day or night, a demon were to steal after you into your loneliest loneliness and say to you:
‘This life, as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more; and there will be nothing new in it, but every pain and every joy and every thought and sigh… must return to you—all in the same succession and sequence—even this spider and this moonlight between the trees and even this moment and I myself.
The eternal hourglass of existence is turned over again and again—and you with it, speck of dust!’
Would you not throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse the demon who spoke thus? Or have you once experienced a tremendous moment when you would have answered him:
‘You are a god, and never have I heard anything more divine!’ If this thought were to gain possession of you, it would change you as you are, or perhaps crush you.
The question in each and every thing, “do you want this once more and innumerable times more?” would lie upon your actions as the greatest weight.
Or how well disposed would you have to become to yourself and to life to crave nothing more fervently than this ultimate eternal confirmation and seal?”
― Friedrich Nietzsche
The rest of Imagine
“Imagine all the people
Living for today…. Aha-ah…
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace… You…
//
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world… You…
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one”
Like my affinity for infinity the quest goes on and on and on……
“Just an observation,
Maybe I need
Different glasses.”
– Angelo Devlin
