Thoughts And Prayers
Are bolstered not
By evidence or proof
Rather coincidences, plus
Circumstance and timing
In order to satiate
A fragile narcissistic ego
That one is doing something
When one is actually not
If one does a rain dance
Long enough
Eventually, it will rain
One will win once in a while
In a lottery or game of chance
Usually, a smaller amount
Than the fantasized gross
But you still have to buy a ticket
Having done something
In order to get paid
Movement and action
Are what gives satisfaction
“Just be who you are and work hard for a living, for that’s better than pretending to be important and starving to death.”
Proverbs 12:9 TPT
However, if you want
Something to happen
It’s best to pick up a shovel
Use your hands
At the end of your mind
Wishing and hoping
Will move as much dirt
As will a thimble
Emptying the ocean
“National Day of Prayer, F*** you. You think you’re doing something….. you’re not. You can sit at home and cry jinx and keep your fingers crossed too. It does as much good.
You want to pray, pray all day. Pray on your own time. You wanna help? Grab a shovel, and start digging there pinwheel, because it looks like your god, takes Tuesdays (September 11, 2001) off.”
