Words Are Like God
From your brain and
Out of your mouth
To other ears or yours
Or inside your cranium
They are invisible, yet
Words are all powerful
They can start anything
Or be the last word
Period. End of sentence.
Which gives reason for pause
Yet only temporary silence
Meanwhile words
Go on infinitely forever
Which means words
Exist all ways always
Besides
There is no doubt
That words exist
For one can hear, see
Write and speak words
That surface from
The sublime ether
In a cosmic sea
Of near nothingness
To the concrete
Abstraction of thought
Inasmuch as reality is
Made manifest by words
As defined, words are
Like God
Their interpretation
Is subjective
And mean something
Different to each perceiver
God can be found
Most predominantly in
The holiest of all books
Best known as the dictionary
Where hope and inspiration
Can be found along with
Love, laughter and truth
Kindness and forgiveness
There is no such thing
As a wordless thought
Silence is always broken
By the word silence
Words, like God are neutral
In and of themselves
Hate and love are nouns
As a thing or an idea
It isn’t until a pronoun
Is added to cause good or harm
In other words…..people
They hate, we love
When supposedly
The commandment is to
“Love the neighbor”
– Matthew 19 / 22
What good will it do
If love is clear
But neighbor is
Vague and subjective
Or at best convenient
If they stay in their house
“In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:1
“Just an observation,
Maybe I need
Different glasses.”
– Angelo Devlin
