Indoctrinations
Indoctrinations run deep
Through the collective psyche
Like invisible steel bars
Of an inescapable prison
Burrowing at night
Like Dufresne at Shawshank
The small pick axe of dreams
Carries one beyond the walls
Where the warden Norton ego is
Corrupt and greedy under a facade
Of structure and redemption
With the Bible as its guiding prop
Feigning faith as a formidable form
Against the rational and reasonable
Knowing nothing really separates
The Prince from the Pauper
The billionaire from the bum
The king from the criminal
Except for the illusion
Cast upon consciousness
As roles to repeat to remind
That what you think you know
Has merely been taught taut
Nary any openings to question
That…..
“What you see is not real,
Those who know will not tell
All is lost, sold your souls
To this brave new world”
– Iron Maiden
“Brave New World”
Even if the ones who know could tell, the ones who don’t do the work to experienced the Real first hand wouldn’t understand even if they listened.

Yes, like leading a horse to water, that you can’t make it drink.
