Shame
Shame, shame. (Ring, ring)
Shame, shame. (Ring, ring)
Shame, shame. (Ring, ring)
– Septa Unella
“Games Of Thrones”
The only way this ends
Is, by everyone walking away
In shame
On one end
Shame for those who
Lifted nary a finger to prevent it
(Me, I’m lifting fingers)
(Albeit to a very small audience)
What else can I do, “Fight” city hall?
We know how that turns out
“I fight authority, authority always wins
I’ve been doing it since I was a young kid
I’ve come out grinnin’
I fight authority, authority always wins”
– John Mellencamp
On the other end
The shame of regret for those
Getting so riled up in hatred
Following a narcissistic grifter
Guiding gullible groups
Into not thinking
Not thinking they are focusing
Their self hatred onto
A mirror they can not see
Hating immigrants
Their own ancestors once were
Despising women for being
The reason they are in this dimension
Not recognizing the constant miracle
Holding this fragile ecosystem together
As something that may be survivable
Disgraced nearly to death after realizing
The people they projected their hate onto
May very well be why they stay alive
And help them to heal their shame
“I write to expunge the darkness so
That someday light may shine through”
– Angelo Devlin
