Grasping
At the whole
There are images floating around
Depicting concepts
Of the “known” universe
Presumably from a
Geocentric perspective
Rather, an egocentric one
Therefore, the view, like
From the top of a mountain
Shows a 360° scene
As far as the current
Technology can capture
In a conceptual way
Galaxies, suns, stars
Planets, empty spaces
Nice and tidy
In a five inch circle
Wow, for everybody
To grasp “everything”
Which is fine until
One is able to separate
Themselves from ego
Place the same technology
Upon the outer edge to
Of the known universe
There would not be
A void of nothingness beyond
Rather, a new concentric circle
As far as technology could “see,”
More of the “known” universe
As a constant new awareness
Plus, nowhere in the findings
Would there be any evidence
Of a big bang bogus beginning
Nor a heaven or hell
Nor a God on a throne on a cloud
Or Devil waiting by a lake of fire
Just more infinity
Beyond known infinities
Only to turn the telescopes back
At ourselves to see how
Literally small we are
In the literal infinite
Meandering around the cosmos
On a pale blue dot so pale
Our significance is insignificant
Now cast away those images
Turn off the telescopes and see
How fragile our reality must be
Now, wonder why we fight against
Each other as a perpetual distraction
That is even harder to grasp
“Just an observation,
Maybe I need
Different glasses.”
