No one was paying attention ………

Nine people, paid by approximately

One hundred sixty seven million Tax payers

At a salary just under $286,700 annually

Or about the same as the Vice President

$284,600 according to http://www.whitehouse.gov

Make decisions affecting the lives of

Three hundred and thirty million people

As the head of an extensive beast

Known as the US “Justice” department

Like an untouchable gang of nine

Called the “Supreme Court,” ruling over its

True definition, “Criminal,” “Justice,” “System,”

(The only place one will find the meaning of

Truth in advertising. It is what it says it is)

Non-elected and essentially un-fireable

People picked by partisan presidents

Since its inception in 1789

No one has ever been fired

In other words, ZERO accountability

None, zip, zilch, nada, diddly-squat

Over the people they hold accountable

Or assist in boutique cases

Making one individual one

Above the law and very immune

Changing rules to suit their suitors

“Allegedly” on the “side” by a few people

An incalculable amount of un-taxed perks

“During his three decades on the Supreme Court, Clarence Thomas has enjoyed steady access to a lifestyle most Americans can only imagine. A cadre of industry titans and ultrawealthy executives have treated him to far-flung vacations aboard their yachts, ushered him into the premium suites at sporting events and sent their private jets to fetch him — including, on more than one occasion, an entire 737. It’s a stream of luxury that is both more extensive and from a wider circle than has been previously understood.

Like clockwork, Thomas’ leisure activities have been underwritten by benefactors who share the ideology that drives his jurisprudence. Their gifts include:

At least 38 destination vacations, including a previously unreported voyage on a yacht around the Bahamas; 26 private jet flights, plus an additional eight by helicopter; a dozen VIP passes to professional and college sporting events, typically perched in the skybox; two stays at luxury resorts in Florida and Jamaica; and one standing invitation to an uber-exclusive golf club overlooking the Atlantic coast.”

Ooopsie

The Supreme Court has nine justices – one Chief Justice and eight other associate justices. When the salaries were initially set back in 1789, the Chief Justice earned $4,000 per year, and the associate judges earned $3,500.

While the President’s salary has only increased 5 times since 1789, the salaries for the Supreme Court Justices have increased 51 times over the same period. Currently, it has increased to $286,700 (Chief Justice) and $274,200 (associate judges), where it has remained since.

“The days when it was taboo to criticize the lives of Supreme Court Justices are over. And it turns out there’s plenty hiding in their closets. Whether it’s Justice Clarence Thomas sending his relative to school on a Republican megadonor’s dime or Justice Samuel Alito reportedly taking a lavish trip with a billionaire with cases before the court, the Supreme Court is rife with ethics scandals.”

When final decisions are overturned and replaced
They are not very supreme, now are they?

The Supreme Court is like a hole in the wall
Made by the door knob, left unfixed finds itself
In the enviable position of going unnoticed because
That is now how it is supposed to look

Maybe it should be called the Malleable Court
To reveal its truer nature of flexibility
