If No One Voted

October 22, 2024

In the next election

We would still get

The leadership we

Need and deserve

To make us aware

Of where our collective

Consciousness is

Taking us

One side will implement

Their own agenda, while

The other side will implement

Ta-Da… Their own agenda

Meanwhile

Continuing to mill about

Like ants around a colony

Or red and black ants

Living peacefully in a jar*

Which could happen

Lest “Don” keeps

Shaking the jar

*
“If you collect 100 black ants and 100 fire ants and put them in a glass jar, nothing will happen. But if you take the jar, shake it violently and leave it on the table, the ants will start killing each other.”

– author unknown

Or its verifiableness tested

Perhaps inspired by

“What he was doing was spooning different kinds of bugs into the jar and making them fight. “The bug fight was so interesting that I stopped crying right away–forgot all about the old man.

I can’t remember what all Frank (Don) had fighting in the jar that day, but I can remember other bug fights we staged later on: one stag beetle against a hundred red ants, one centipede against three spiders, red ants against black ants.

They won’t fight unless you keep shaking the jar. And that’s what Frank (Don) was doing, shaking, shaking, the jar.”

– Kurt Vonnegut

“Cat’s Cradle”

Or bees in a beehive

Buzzing around to

Serve their queen

“Lastly, when a honey bee queen suddenly dies, an urgent and unplanned supersedure occurs. Worker honey bees identify several larvae within the proper age range and begin to condition these larvae to become queens.”

– orkin.com

“When a queen bee dies inside a colony, it can be difficult for the colony. While the queen bee isn’t the leader of a colony, she is responsible for its future.

A colony of bees can survive when one of their worker bees or drones dies, but without the queen, a colony will eventually fail.”

“Democracy is the worst kind, I am sorry,  but it is. We get to pick our leaders..well…

What if I don’t want a leader? Where does that vote go? I do good on my own, I don’t want to be “led”. Is that freedom?”

//

“American Idol (Idle) was the number one show on television // those are the people picking your leaders with less insight then they put in to whether or not Rubin Stoddard should win an award.

It’s dumb. “

– Doug Stanhope

Only to have your precious

Single, life altering “vote”

Grouped together to elect electors

Narrowing it down to 538 votes

In a slight majority, winner takes all

Regardless of the popular vote

Cast by two-thirds of eligible voters

Which, like the game / talent show

Comes down to who is most popular

Not effective, or leadership tested

Just popular **

“Pretty neat deal, huh?
You know how we got it?
We made the whole fucking thing up!”

– George Carlin

In a contrived manner

To feed an illusion that

One’s social participation

Makes any difference

Outside of what one does

In their personal life

Of being kind to people

Strangers and relatives

Accepting their uniqueness

To evolve more themselves

In a never ending process of

Evolution through chaos

Vision, struggle, and patience

** Because you know, if you owned a business

You would not hire a convicted felon who was

Indicted on 34 counts of business fraud

As your CEO, who is also under investigation

For illegally retaining documents from

One company (country) and sharing that information

With a rival company (country) who also

Went bankrupt six times and failed at a casino

Stole from a charity and ran a fraudulent university

Found liable for sexual assault known as rape

But, is popular, in spite of personal and business failures

“My solipsistic worldview

Does not allow me to see

What may be real reality.”

– Angelo Devlin

I had a big Insight while engaging with your words. As usual!

It sounds as if you are surrounded by more people who really like Trump. So sometimes I wonder if your perspectives are colored by them, as mine would be. Just as I who am surrounded by Kamala sycophants and tend to see the flaws in their arguments. It seems that in order to be a thinking person there is an element of contrarianism, and it is natural to one’s environment.Which is probably an exact mathematical reason for why the country is split 50/50. We’re naturally balancing each other out.Yet another reason why as you say whatever we get will be what we deserve and that it doesn’t really matter (in the little and the grand scheme of things) which one it is.

Actually, I am surrounded by both, though the Kamala camp is more tacit as opposed to the slightly more in your face, ever present reminders of their support for the other camp. I would use 45’s name, but that just keeps feeding his narcissism and ego.

The trouble with either side is that they both have at least some blood on their hands. which, in turn, drips down to our hands since we are paying either to maintain as she puts it, the most lethal fighting force this country has ever known.

Regardless who wins, at some corporations behest, one or the other will do that bidding.

    “If you become
    The leader of the land,
    For murder is the sport
    Of the elected,

And you don’t need to lift
    A finger of your hand

    Because it’s murder by numbers 1, 2, 3,
It’s as easy to learn as your ABC.
    Murder by numbers, 1, 2, 3,
    It’s as easy to learn as your A, B, C, D, E,……….”

    “Murder By Numbers”

    – The Police

“I have this feeling, man, ’cause you know, it’s just a handful of people who run everything, you know … that’s true, it’s provable. It’s not … I’m not a fucking conspiracy nut, it’s provable.

A handful, a very small elite, run and own these corporations, which include the mainstream media.

“I have this feeling that whoever is elected president, like (Bill) Clinton was, no matter what you promise on the campaign trail – blah, blah, blah – when you win, you go into this smoke-filled room with the twelve industrialist capitalist scum-fucks who got you in there.

And you’re in this smoky room, and this little film screen comes down … and a big guy with a cigar goes, “Roll the film.”

And it’s a shot of the Kennedy assassination from an angle you’ve never seen before … that looks suspiciously like it’s from the grassy knoll.

And then the screen goes up, and the lights come up, and they go to the new president,

    “Any questions?”

“Er, just what my agenda is.”

    “First we bomb Baghdad.”

    “You got it …”

    – Bill Hicks
