Answering the proverbial question

If you were stuck alone on an island

(Not sure how that will happen)

You get to get to read one book

What on earth would it be

Many people say the Bible

War and Peace or the Illyad

Something lengthy anyway

Not me….

I’d want a digital dictionary

So when someone somewhere

Is making new words

I could read them to

Make up my own stories

Or make the best of my situation

Is not going to help you survive

Which would be the first word to lookup



Survive : to remain alive or in existence

Live : to maintain oneself:

Subsist : to have or acquire the necessities of life 
                 (such as food and clothing)

Acquire : to locate and hold

Food : something that nourishes


Put dictionary down, search for food


Shelter : something that covers or affords protection

Also // We made a shelter from branches


Hmmmm, find branches or maybe a cave


I think one would be hard pressed to suggest that the Bible would be more beneficial than a dictionary to extend your life. Besides, it is a book filled with God, Gods, and God’s words.

I can already hear the doubt, wondering about the digital dictionary, which the battery would die before you could really survive.

Problem solved, would just need to plug it into a “current” bush.
