A Kaleidoscopic View
“I’m one of those people who doesn’t really know what he thinks until he writes it down. “
Jake Epping AKA George Amberson
From Stephen King’s “11/22/63”
The more I open my yap
The more I’m inclined
To keep it shut
If my eyes are the
window to the world
Then my ears guide me
Of what to steer clear
The awareness comes
Into being
A view unlike anything
Else, others are seeing
What I utter, to me, makes
Perfect…. logical sense
Others get offended
And there’s no recompense
Done with mirrors and
Colored glass fragmented
Explains my ability to
Communicate poorly, lamented
A gentle content turn
Of the wrist
Leaves many in
A contextual twist
For it is not, what I
Meant to have said
Handed over, to explain
What is green, is now red
Speaking off the cuff
I trust my intuit
Confused looks, thinks
That me is losing my wit
Never looking to be right
Just reasonably understood
Inflection, tone and meaning
Always seem to get jumbled
For a kaleidoscope to work
It must be turned
Keeping my dialogue to
Myself is what I’ve learned
I can certainly relate to this
