Crickets

A thousand screaming crickets

Perched inside of my right ear

Adjacent to tall grass and thickets.

Make it extremely difficult to hear

Huh, what, for which I’m given flack

It would be quieter at the airport

With the squeals heard on the tarmac

Another thing that makes temper short

A phenomenon anyone would dread

If could only be lifted like a morning fog

Is it crickets, or voices in my head

Then, might not have anything to blog
