Under Oath

September 24, 2018

: a formal and serious promise to tell the truth or to do something

Under Oath has

Absolutely no

Magical powers

Any more than

Hocus Pocus

So help you God

Or witchy witchy cat’s ass

All it is

Is a

Detrimental distraction

From an evolutionary

Impeding our

Collective progress

Sacrificing our

True power

To a system

Of divisiveness

That words

Have more value

Then actions

Yet, we hear it

So much these days

It establishes itself as

A verbal commodity

Interchangeable with

Suggest, inclined, imply

Allude, infer, hint or

Categorically deny

Here’s another one of these civic customs, swearing on the bible. //

They tell you to raise your right hand and put your left hand on the Bible. Does this stuff really matter, which hand? Does God really give a fuck about details like this?

Suppose you put your right hand on the Bible and you raise your left hand. Would that count? Or would God say, ‘Sorry, wrong hand, try again’?

And why does one hand have to be raised? […] But let’s get back to the Bible, America’s favorite national theatrical prop.

Suppose the Bible they hand you to swear on is upside down, or backward, or both, and you swear to tell the truth on an upside-down backward Bible.

Would that count? Suppose the Bible they hand you is an old Bible and half the pages are missing. Suppose all they have is a Chinese Bible. In an American court. Or a Braille Bible, and you’re not blind.

Suppose they hand you an upside-down, backward, Chinese, Braille Bible with half the pages missing.

At what point does all of this stuff just break down and become just a lot of stupid shit that somebody made up?

They fuckin’ made it up, folks, it’s make-believe! It’s make-believe […]

The more important question is…What is the big deal about swearing to God in the first place. Why does swearing to God mean you’re going to tell the truth?

Wouldn’t affect me. If they said to me, do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God?

I’d say yeah, I’ll tell you about as much truth as the people who wrote that #ucking bible. How do you like that? //

Bible or no Bible, God or no God, if it suits their purposes, people are going to lie in court. The police do it all the time, all the time, yes they do.

It’s part of their job. To protect, to serve and to commit perjury whenever it supports the state’s case.

Swearing on the bible is just one more way of controlling people and keeping them in line, and it is one of these superstitious things that hold us back as a species.”

– George Carlin

Redundant hyperbolic

Righteous rhetoric as

A pious precedent of

Unprovable proof of

She said – he denies

She said – he refutes

She said – he disowns

We don’t know her from Adam

Yet we do know her from Adam

She is not Adam

She “typically”

(not trying to be sexist here)

Does not have the

Physical strength to

Push off a

Would be attacker

In any state

Inebriated or otherwise

“The courage it takes for a woman to say yes [to a date with a man] is beyond anything I can imagine.

A woman saying yes to a date with a man is literally insane, and ill-advised,” he says.

“How do women still go out with guys, when you consider the fact that there is no greater threat to women than men?

We’re the number one threat! To women! Globally and historically, we’re the number one cause of injury and mayhem to women. We’re the worst thing that ever happens to them!”

“If you’re a guy, imagine you could only date a half-bear-half-lion. ‘Oh, I hope this one’s nice! I hope he doesn’t do what he’s going to do.’”

– Louis C K

“Oh my god”

The bit is funny, but it’s also tragically on point. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in five U.S. women experiences rape at some point in her life. More than 42 percent of female rape victims were first raped before age 18, and nearly 30 percent of female rape victims were first raped between the ages of 11 and 17.

And yet we continue to treat victims with skepticism, shift blame onto them, and publicly shame them because of their victimization. This holds true for woman who have been sexually violated and young girls who have been sexually victimized.

Given that
Maybe Kavanaugh isn’t
Such a good choice
After all

Seriously, how honest to himself would that have been to pause then not necessarily confess but be willing to reveal that, that might have been something he did and apologize.

As an agent of healing and compassion, it would humanize himself. Help put a stop to the Weinstein, Rose, Cosby, O’Reilly, Ailes, Franken, Moonves, Lauer types of behavior plaguing society.

Plus create an atmosphere of bipedal earthling respect in such a way that something similar would hopefully be unlikely to happen to his daughters. Hmmmm ? Or yours or mine.

That being said / written

Not only is the system broken
It is past being repaired
Having shed any decency
And is in need of replacement

Starting with the “Supreme Court”
Even linguistically it’s #ucked up
“Supreme”  WTF?

: Highest in rank or authority

By whom
Mostly old white (pink) guys
Or what
Draconian racist and sexist laws

Perception being reality
Tells me we are close
To evolving past that
From the Piscean age

To an Aquarian age
Where we find
A balance
Much more sustainable

Life affirming
Planet healing
Equitable believing
Power sharing
