Sunny Side Up

November 21, 2018

“The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use them.”

Philip K. Dick

Religious conjecture

Is not a compelling argument

Towards proof

Of beliefs

Touting ones faith

As a reason to believe

Just because you do

Is like suggesting that

An invisible lucky charm

In your pocket is

What makes the

Sun come out everyday

The only reason that words

Have a perceived meaning

Is that somehow in the

Aeons of evolution

Grunts became groans

Groans manifested syllables

Syllables turned consonants

Consonants needed vowels

“For millions of years
Mankind lived just like the animals
Then something happenend

Which unleashed the power
Of our imagination

We learned to talk”

– Stephen Hawking

Cave walls were canvases

Canvases displayed art

Art spreads communication

Communication requires thought

Thought necessitates transference

Transference utilizes sight

Sight moves at the speed of light

Light makes no sound

Sound wanted to be special

Special hath meaning

Meaning is open to interpretation

Interpretation grants definition

Definition defines words

Words build sentences

Sentences grow paragraphs

Paragraphs establish chapters

Chapters divide stories

Stories tell tales

Tales entertain or instruct

Instruct leads to control

Control manipulates reader

Reader reads book

Book written by many

Many collaborate message

“Here’s how it happened: About five thousand years ago, a bunch of religious and political hustlers got together to figure out how they could control people and keep them in line.

They knew people were basically stupid and would believe anything they were told, so these guys announced that God—

God personally—had given one of them a list of Ten Commandments that he wanted everyone to follow.

They claimed the whole thing took place on a mountaintop, when no one else was around.”

– George Carlin

Now that we see through that

The new mystical deity is still

The “Rule of Law” waaaay beyond the 10

As our “saviour” yet, like God is invisible

We only keep hearing about it

From the new preachers

That we allegedly elect

Telling us how good it will work

If we go with their interpretation

Hoping for quick implementation

Bringing supposed salvation

Hiding typical regurgitation

Seems only a repetition

Of a permanent distraction

Merely a continuation

Of sped up procrastination

Apparently the rule of law

Does not apply to the

Makers and breakers of law

Seems quite an obvious flaw

Yet like Lucy, Charlie and the football

We trust each time it will not move

With a woomph and on our back we fall

Are you not just puke sick of it all

Not like me to end on a sour note

Looking up, can hardly believe I wrote

You would think I’m at the end of my rope

Always a little room for some hope

The splattered egg is on our face

Look in the mirror to see what’s up

No more negativity from me, am

Trying to see things, sunny side up
