The Older I Get

The more I’m compelled

To keep my mouth shut

Having nothing to say

Intelligent or otherwise

Sure

Words spill here

But here

They are

For me

To formulate unspoken

Clever arguments

Always winning

Never losing

To a few

Who are reading

Maybe

Understanding it

Or leaving

Not subjecting themselves

If they choose not too

Trying for balance

Not for an audience

Or any audience

For me

Knowing the only

Words I speak or type

Change my thinking

Broaden my horizon

Hopefully making me

A better person

Making the world

A better place
