Either forward

Or backwards

A billion years

Is a linear perception

We can not possibly

Comprehend

What is now

Was not

What will be

May never

Giving credence

To Einstein’s theory

That everything is

Happening all at once

We are only experiencing

What we have right now

Which is this moment

Now this one and

The next one

And so on

For billions of years

From → random

    I love this poem. The construct of time is fascinating to a speculative fiction writer, and the thought that it’s not linear is mind-boggling and exciting. Even it time does exist, a single human life, set against the backdrop of billions of years, is over the moment it begins.
