Normal, See

April 6, 2020

If what was then

Was then which

What is now

Considered normalcy

That seemed more

Like lunacy

For what we have now

Is insanity

Neither a place

I want to be

What was then

Might have been

More familiar

Hardly normal

Merely acceptable

Because it was what

We’d grown up to

Expect and accept

As long as we could

Maybe kinda sort of

Navigate our way

Through the maze

However given

A choice of either

Neither would be one

One would return to

As the new normal

Builds in its comforts

Although not quite

As comfortable

Still not normal

The best would be to

Create a better normal

One where everyone

Is fed and sheltered

Has universal

Global healthcare

As obviously what

“Starts” in a “different”

Country affects all

The countries, why

Cause they are all

On the same planet

Duh……

No impervious barrier

Is protecting anyone

Regardless where the

Flag is waving

Religion practiced

Skin color or gender

Bank account value

The grim reaper

Knows none of those

So since governments

Can’t solve the problem

What can we do…….but

“Imagine”

“Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today…. Aha-ah…

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace… You…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world… You…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one”

– John Lennon
