The Greatest Form
The only reason democracy is considered the “greatest” form of government is because within its rhetoric it tells and sells its constituents that it “IS” the greatest form of government.
Past that, and with minimal scrutiny one would find it very corrupt. Perhaps the least corrupt compared to other systems of government.
However still corrupt.
So then how can it be the “Greatest”?
If your computer’s files were “corrupted” and took data from one file and moved it to another. Leaving one constantly confused. Would you think it was the greatest computer. No of course not.
.
If your vehicle was listed as a lemon because of consistent and constant manufacturer discovered defects. Would you keep it, just because it looks nice. No of course not.
.
If your spouse constantly cheated on you, stole money from you with no remorse and no plans to stop. Would you stay with them because they are attractive or at least look good on paper. No of course not.
.
So then why would anyone regurgitate and repeat the high praises for democracy? Other than one has been systematically indoctrinated into believing that generation after generation.
The high ideals of what it could be, fall flat short and hard against the reality of what it actually is.
Succumbing to either the tyranny of the majority or minority. Depending on which group wants what and how easily they can manipulate information to malleable masses.
.
I know I’ve used the following quote before, however it is so fitting.
“Democracy is the worst kind, I am sorry, but it is. We get to pick our leaders..well…
What if I don’t want a leader? Where does that vote go? I do good on my own, I don’t want to be “led”. Is that freedom?”
