There Is No Such Thing

As a law abiding citizen

If you have ever
Exceeded the speed limit
You are not a law abiding citizen

If you have crossed a street
Other than at the crosswalk
You are not a law abiding citizen

If you intentionally or unintentionally
Failed to report some income
You are not a law abiding citizen
.
If you ever “stormed” the US Capital
Because 45 said it was the thing to do
You are not a law abiding citizen
.
What you actually are
Is a selective law abiding citizen
Pretty neat deal huh

Therefore you are only guilty
Of not being a law abiding citizen
If you get caught on cameras
And egotistical selfies
While perpetuating a crime
.
Unless of course you are
The head muckety muck
Charged with upholding and defending
The primary laws of all the land
Then in all likelihood you can
Get away with whatever while
Watching your bank of screens
Performing your mental masturbation
That this is all about you and your ego
As the cardboard thin walls
Of an alleged democracy
House of cards come tumbling down
But still it is all about you
So it is okay
