Mornglow
No words can describe
The silent beauty
Of the horizontal
Mornglow*(sunrise/archaic)
Viewed from the
Air ride seat behind
A clean windshield
Catching all stages
From the pre-dawn
Silent darkness
Of the fading light
Disappearing from
Vast distant suns
Not fading really
Just edged out
By the closest
One near us
Coloring the clouds
Without paint
Different every time**

Mornglow
The linguistic correction
To the long held misconception
Of the geocentric perception
We are / are in
The center of the universe
Which methinks mornglow “should”
Immediately be put in dictionaries
To kick-start our next evolution
Of self awareness of individual’s
Significance in their insignificance
That in the scheme of the cosmos
We are merely tiny specks of dust
“Growing in numbers
Growing in speed
I can’t fight the future
Can’t fight what I see
‘Cause people, they come together
People, they fall apart
And no one can stop us now
‘Cause we are all made of stars”
– Moby
“We Are All Made of Stars”
Perhaps the lexicographers
Can get right on that
Or at best it should be a sniglet
“Sniglet has been defined by American comedian Rich Hall as “a word that doesn’t appear in the dictionary but should.”
– thoughtco.com
Leave it to a comedian to expand awareness.
**
Had I used the word “day”
Would have eclipsed the point
“Time” iz fuzzy enough
A man made construct
To perceive reality linearly
“Just an observation,
Maybe I need
Different glasses.”
– Angelo Devlin
