According To……
The Bible
The chef is a bad cook
And the second batch
Isn’t any better than
The first batch
But vowed he wouldn’t
Pour it down the drain
After setting up
A rainbow reminder
Which can be recreated
With a thumb and garden hose
On a sunny day formed
By a mist of water droplets
“I learned that shit in 5th grade,”
– George Carlin
According to the Bible
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
– Genesis 1:1
According to the Bible
Which is a very suspect phrase
That garners a lot of indoctrinated weight
On Society’s subjectivity
Of how everyone and everything got here
WHY?
Because people like…….stories
Helps them relate to an otherwise chaos
Of an infinite infinity that has no beginning
“Can you deal with that?” – George Carlin
I can, makes more sense to me
That everything is, is, it just merely changes shape
That and it simply goes on forever, forever
Science isn’t any better from a different direction
That everything is is
According to…….. the “BIG BANG”
WHY?
Because people like…….stories
Helps them relate to an otherwise chaos
Of an infinite infinity that has no beginning
According to…….. the “BIG BANG”
Which defies all logic and reason plus science
The “BIG BANG” is more usable as a verbal or literary tic
That won’t go away and yet is used as “proof”
Even as the James Webb telescope
Peers deeper into the cosmos
Yet, can’t seem to find the “end” of the universe
The big bang still gets referenced as
An elusive illusionary source (that doesn’t exist)
To determine the age of all existence
WHY?
Because people like stories
According to…….. George Lucas
“A long time ago
In a galaxy far far away
“It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire.”
WHY?
Because people like stories
“Just an observation,
Maybe I need
Different glasses.”
– Angelo Devlin
Hope you enjoyed this sorta short story
Very much enjoyed it! You’ve hit the nail on the head.
Another factor is that nihilists try to tell ‘no story’ or to say that there is no story or any story is as good as any other. But we can see how that has led to despair and the meaning crisis.
How can we tell a story that is inclusive and uplifts everyone to their true potential? And not leave anyone to wallow in righteousness or perversion or depression?

I seriously doubt that I am qualified to answer such existential questions. However, the collective (we) may eventually reject the base ideas of religion and science (creation and the big bang).
Everything is infinite, merely changes shape, and the concept of a “beginning” serves no purpose.
All three examples in this post have (at the time) “Star Wars” have / had untold prequels.
“Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.”
Whoa , whoa, whoa, where did the water come from?
Likewise Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness.”
Where and when did the “us” and “our” come from?
Phew!
The microscopic dot that “began” the “BIG BANG” still would have been surrounded by nothing. Asking, what or where was keeping it suspended? No?
When in doubt, we can turn to music/ lyricists.
“We live, we die
& death not ends it”
//
“Let’s reinvent the gods, all the myths
Of the ages”
Jim Morrison
Or comedians
“I think we’re part of a greater wisdom that we won’t ever understand, a higher order. Call it what you want. You know what I call it?
The big electron… the big electron. Woooohhhh, woooohhhh, woooohhhh. It doesn’t punish, it doesn’t reward, it doesn’t judge at all. It just is and so are we… for a little while”
– George Carlin
“It’s just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It’s only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one.”
Here’s what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defences each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.”
– Bill Hicks
