Tingly
I am not sure why
But it seems as if some
People want to live in a
Post apocalyptic world
Which is not going to occur
One that makes, ’em feel
All tingly inside
Like being in the lead cart
On a roller coaster ride
At the precipice of
Gravitational forces
The briefest moment captured
In perceiving to be alive
Or……
“You know when you’re sitting on a chair and you lean back so you’re just on two legs and you lean too far so you almost fall over, but at the last second, you catch yourself?
I feel like that all the time…”
Steven Wright
Besides, if, if, if, I am wrong
Out of all the blacks, whites,
Browns, reds, yellows, olives,
Hes, shes, theys, thems,
Jews, Christians, Muslims,
Buddhists and atheists
Nearly everyone will be dead
And I seriously doubt that
The leftover zombies will be
Be scouring through the
WordPress hard drives to find
Where I wrote that no
Apocalypse would occur
Just to prove I was wrong
While they can’t say anything
Clearly or directly, they give
Glimpses with innuendoes
So as not to be taken away
In a buckled straight jacket
In their version of being
On the side of good in the
Final battle over “evil” by
Doing the nothing they’ve done
Allowing “evil” to proliferate
That they think that “now”
They are going to conquer
Meanwhile, with all of
Their catastrophizing
The worst thing that happens
Is their favorite coffee shop
Is all out of carmel
For their macchiato
Because for 24 hours, 7 days
52 weeks year after year
The talking heads have been
Forecasting doom and gloom
Making the slightest hiccup as
Unbearable as all get out
Which has been absorbed with
All the caffeine in the Americano
They have been “forced” to order
Adding stimulant to the tingle
As they barricade themselves
In their homes behind the
Great cardboard wall of boxes
Arriving daily at the doorstep
Of constant consumption
Their only enemy being the
Porch pirates to steal the capstone
Of hopes and dreams
“There’s simply no polite way to tell people
They’ve dedicated their lives to an illusion.”
Daniel Dennett
“The phantoms
Of our imagination
Are as real as the
Beliefs in our brain”
– Angelo Devlin
Brilliant!!!
This kind of rhetoric going on fulminated by both sides of these camps (which as you deliciously point out are really on the same side of fear) serves to test our mettle, to find out whether any of can withstand an onslaught of delusion and still maintain a modicum of sanity. It is the greatest temptation to give in to a narrative that you think fits your own. And then let it sideswipe you into full blown insanity. Both sides are doing this.
It’s hard not to see this ludicrous carnival of fear-mongering as a kind of kool-aid/crack/heroin to get people addicted to lying itself.
How many people out there think women don’t have the same rights as men? I’m still waiting for someone to give me ONE proof of that. We laud women constantly and they can basically do no wrong. In fact, women have more rights than men. Try another way to look at abortion: See what happens if a man kills a fetus at any stage of its development!! Off to prison he goes. Hmm, they don’t want us to think about that. All while crying about their second class citizenship. Pfffffffffffffffffffffffft. Don’t be fooled!
That kind of thinking is what is causing the division. It doesn’t matter what sex or race or age or income anyone has. We are all the same species.
Keep us on the straight and narrow, Angelo!!

Btw, Sam is for Samantha (not commenting as a dude, as I can see that some people would react to my comments more negatively if so – yet again, proving my point)

Excellent point. “What happens if a man kills a fetus at any stage of its development.” Yet, the logic doesn’t seem to out-power the emotional autonomy. Which oddly correlates to the “rape” argument.
If the uninvited/unwelcomed plants a seed in the garden. She gets to morally choose to excavate that weed of her own volition by oddly enough choosing a (usually)(not trying to be sexist here) different man to extract the weed. Yet, as you suggest, if they were to kill the weed without her permission and blessing, he or a she would be liable/guilty of murder.
As Rachel Maddow would ask. Did I get that understanding right, with what you intended?
