My Belief In God

December 1, 2024

Has proof

Similar to sun-worship *

Unlike others

Which only has

Belief as proof

The belief comes

From two sources

The Bible and any

And all dictionaries

First

John 1 : 1

“In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:1

Second

God 1 : the supreme or ultimate reality:

Word 7: the expressed or manifested mind and will of God

– m-w.com

No words, no existence, nothing supreme, no reality

I can do all things through

Word(s) that strengthen(s) me

Depending on content and

Meaning through context

Intent mixed with passion

Or apathy with indifference

Word also has all the verifiable

Substance of the invisible wind

I just broke that is permeating

The surrounding ether afoul of

The rest of the air all are breathing

You can not see it

But….you know it is / was there

“Fortunately, some are born with spiritual immune systems that sooner or later give rejection to the illusory worldview grafted upon them from birth through social conditioning. They begin sensing that something is amiss, and start looking for answers.

Inner knowledge and anomalous outer experiences show them a side of reality others are oblivious to, and so begins their journey of awakening. Each step of the journey is made by following the heart instead of following the crowd and by choosing knowledge over the veils of ignorance.”

― Henri Bergson

Unbeknownst to everyone else

They share in the same faith

That Word and any and all words

Conjure up images of each deity

Plus their play book that they follow

Loosely, fundamentally or not at all

Depending on mood and circumstances

Like my favorite commandment

“Thou shalt not kill”. ……… Which,

Observed by the major religions

Really, all depends on who or what

Is being killed by whom or what for

Pick your justification and have a party

We are all collectively responsible for

“Blood On The World’s Hands” – Iron Maiden

Because even if one lifts a finger against killing

Circumstantially supports it via taxes or lunch

Breakfast, dinner, abortion, and the death penalty

There goes God

In all of Word’s glory

For without Word

Or words, there

Would be no God(s)

Also, there would be no killing….because

There’d be “Nothing to kill or die for” – John Lennon

Try learning a lesson

Or absorb teachings

From any of the

Masters of Wisdom

Without words

To read or hear

“Their” words

“And immediately, I thought of the sun (Word). Happened like that. Overnight I became a sun-(Word) worshipper. Well, not overnight, you can’t see the sun (Word) ** at night. But first thing the next morning, I became a sun-(Word) worshipper.

Several reasons. First of all, I can see the sun, (Word) okay? Unlike some other gods I could mention, I can actually see the sun(Word). I’m big on that. If I can see something, I don’t know, it kind of helps the credibility along, you know?

So everyday I can see the sun (Words), as it gives me everything I need; heat, light, food, flowers in the park, reflections on the lake, an occasional skin cancer, but hey.

At least there are no crucifixions, and we’re not setting people on fire simply because they don’t agree with us.

Sun (Word) worship is fairly simple. There’s no mystery, no miracles, no pageantry, no one asks for money, there are no songs to learn, and we don’t have a special building where we all gather once a week to compare clothing.

And the best thing about the sun (Word), it never tells me I’m unworthy. Doesn’t tell me I’m a bad person who needs to be saved.

(Word) Hasn’t said an unkind word. Treats me fine. So, I worship the sun (Word). But, I don’t pray to the sun (Word). Know why? I wouldn’t presume on our friendship. It’s not polite.”

(Especially since, occasionally words are my only friends)

– George Carlin

The last big question to

Challenge my belief in God is

Where do all the Word(‘s) go

When one is asleep?

“I never wish to be right,
Only to be understood,

If you have questioned
Your beliefs. Then maybe
I have done some good. “

Excellent exposition on a big topic! Your ability to get under the hood of complicated topics always amazes me and brings me new insights.

So to your last big question, where do all the Words go… Might it be that when we withdraw our sanction of engaging in Word and Deed, we go back into the Source of Word, the beginningless and endless (that is to say: timeless) nondimensional “Is-ness” from whence everything emerges? Which might explain why deep sleep is so refreshing, free from all waking concerns.

I’m curious where your genius goes with that topic…

Thanks again for all your do to enlighten us!

Thanks, the sleep contemplation was a recent topic that presented itself. So what you say makes sense, that “we” (bipedal earthling artists) go back into the Source of Word.

Plus, with minimal research (i just looked it up), mammals and marine life sleep also. Likewise, so do trees, at least as we best perceive what is considered sleep.

Do the previous, also go back to the Source of Word, like humans? Regardless of our projections or scientific research, it is unlikely we will ever know.

    Thanks for keeping me thinking.

Great question. I can imagine that whatever sleeps does unfurl into the Source. Thanks for the pondering.

Btw, I’ve heard that trees are far more animate than we ever realized before. They even make music.
