Like Alike Like

Is like alike like

If someone posts on Facebook that someone mutually known dies, and the poster isn’t quite sure of how they think you feel about the deceased, do you dare “like ” it?

Perhaps that little thumbs up icon might be acknowledging that you are now aware of the deceased.

Or could it mean that you are actually glad the person is dead?

What if you don’t know how the FB poster feels,  and they “like” a post about the dead person, how is a person supposed to feel?

Wouldn’t you then feel obligated to now explain what your perception of the many definitions of “like” mean to you and how it relates in the context of a Facebook post?

I don’t “like” this at all.  All over a four letter word and some goofy emoticon representing a digitized pixel painting of a “thumb” facing skyward.
