Fear End Deals
Celebrate what?
No typo there
Fear end deals
Get ’em now
While they’re hot
Only a few left
“Yeah”, “right”
It’s the Reagan
Economy. (which was) Stupid.
Manifest illusionary
Global fears
Hell bent on
Consumption
Which, unfortunately
Helps the economy
Albeit, living in fear
Now the “arms”
Manufacturers
Can employ the unemployed
To make more stuff
To be bought
So more people
Have more money
To buy more stuff
Never to be used
Mostly metaphorical swords
When plowshares would
Benefit humanity
At our core is the only
Thing we truly need
PEACE
“Is This The World We Created?” By Queen
Take a look at all the suffering we breed
So many lonely faces scattered all around
Searching for what they need.Is this the world we created?
What did we do it for?
Is this the world we invaded
Against the law?
So it seems in the end.
Is this what we’re all living for today?
The world that we created. You know that everyday a helpless child is born
Who needs some loving care inside a happy home
Somewhere a wealthy man is sitting on his throne
Waiting for life to go by.
Is this the world we created?
We made it on our own.
Is this the world we devastated
Right to the bone?
If there’s a God in the sky looking down,
What can he think of what we’ve done
To the world that He created?
Or “She”, which would certainly be more in line with the loving, nurturing and creative part, than the masculine hating, disparaging and destructive part.
Bill Hicks “Revelations”
The world is like a ride at an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it, you think it’s real, cause that’s how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round; it has thrills and chills and it’s very brightly colored and it’s very loud and it’s fun… for a while.
Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: “Is this real, or is this just a ride?” And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, and they say, “Hey – don’t worry, don’t be afraid – EVER – because… this is just a ride.” And we… KILL those people.
“Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride – SHUT HIM UP! Look at my furrows of worry! Look at my big bank account, and my family! This just HAS to be real!” It’s just a ride. And we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok.
But it doesn’t matter because… it’s just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It’s only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. A choice, right now, between fear and love.
The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your door, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one. Here’s what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride:
Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defense each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over – not one human being excluded – and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.
Hicks had some good ideas, and man did he just kill it with those expressions. But Revelations. This was also the show where he really lost it for me with Randy Pan the Goat Boy.
