The “Word” A contemplation 1
As with everything else in this blog, am randomly jotting stuff down for myself, a cipher deciphering, occasionally rhyming.
“I’m one of those people who doesn’t really know what he thinks, until he writes it down.”
Jake Epping AKA George Amberson
From Stephen King’s “11/22/63”
It is as if I am on the inside looking outward, inwardly looking outside.
If you the reader is intrigued or offended, enlightened or repulsed, I apologize.
Certainly am not trying to be “right” merely a being, being “understood”.
Here’s the contemplation.
Word = God
God = Word
John 1:1
In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
There’s pixeled “proof” printed plausible pontifications palpably perplexing.
“Words are all we have, really. We have thoughts, but thoughts are fluid.
Then we assign a word to a thought and we’re stuck with that word for that thought.
So be careful with words. I like to think that the same words that hurt can heal, it is a matter of how you pick them.”
George Carlin
Am I painting a picture yet? I realize this is no Sistine Chapel. I am doing the best I can as my un-god has a smaller dictionary than your god.
Ever notice…how dictionaries have more than one definition for one word?
Ergo, God, except there are well over 7 billion interpretations of that word/god.
Not even sure why I care, other than my perception of the credence and power attributed to a patriarchal deity causes a great deal of our most pressing problems.
Given
If it is a given
That God created everything
Then it must be a given
That God created evil
No wonder God is given
A masculine pronoun
I’ll believe in God as a humanoid thought form entity, when even conceptually that being can cut something so thin, it only has one side, besides silence.
In the infiniteness of the giga gazillion infinite expanse of the never ending or beginning universe of cosmos, galaxies, black holes, worm holes, m strings, 5th dimensions, hidden dimensions, super nova’s, quasars, pulsars, dwarf stars, planets, suns, moons, asteroids, comets, vacuums, matter, anti matter, voids, mountain ranges, oceans, hills, valleys, rivers, caverns, giraffes, cows, pigs, platypus’s, dogs, cats, birds, worms, whales, sharks, fish, plankton, rocks, stones, pebbles, mold, fungi, spores, amoebas, algae, particles, waves, atoms, protons, neutrons, electrons, quarks, etc….
As an infinitesimally small aspect of that whole, we have the audacity, arrogance and conceit to give an all powerful all knowing energy a masculine pronoun?
With the bogus notion that although being all powerful and all knowing, had to rest after 7 days, which does not exist, depending where you are at in the infinity.
Belief is the death of intelligence. As soon as one believes a doctrine of any sort, or assumes certitude, one stops thinking about that aspect of existence.”
“I don’t believe anything. Since we all create our habitual reality-tunnels, either consciously and intelligently or unconsciously and mechanically, I prefer to create… the happiest, funniest, and most romantic reality-tunnel consistent with the signals my brain apprehends.
I feel sorry for people who persistently organize experience into sad, dreary and hopeless reality tunnels, and try to show them how to break the bad habit, but I don’t feel any masochistic duty to share their misery…
My goal is to try to get people into a state of generalized agnosticism… not agnosticism about God alone, but agnosticism about everything.”
– Robert Anton Wilson
