How can anyone “obey” God, any more than they can obey a misinterpretation?

Because someone else told you of their interpretation of what they believe God meant/said?

Or something that was extrapolated out of a book that was written, rewritten, edited, with parts left out, other parts added back in (depending on the “power” in charge), revised, shortened,  lengthened, translated, from languages derived from oral hand me downs, thousands of years before it was printed?

Is God a voice in our head, putting words to thoughts? If so, before this is made too long and loses its readers am being told to hit publish.
