Death Of A Salesman

April 2, 2018

Nietzsche did not kill God

Clichés did.

In God We Trust
God bless you
God bless America
God bless our troops
God is on our side
She is with God now
He is with God now
God is smiling down on them
Pray to God
God help us
God save us
God protect us
Either you’re with God
Or you’re against God
God “sacrificed” his only son
It is God’s will
By the grace of God
Swear to God
God hates _________
One nation under God
God made Adam and Eve
Not Adam and Steve

(BTW If it is to be accepted, the notion that God “created” everything, you have to include Steve)

(Plus, everything under that creating everything umbrella, includes evil.)
Put that in your cavernous Dantes inferno pipe and smoke it.

“God bless America”

Now… now… If people wanna say “God Bless America”, that’s their business, I don’t care, but here’s what I don’t understand: If they say “God Bless America”, presumably, they believe in God and if they do, they must have heard, God loved everyone! That’s what he said, he loved everyone and loved them equally!

So why would these people ask God to do something that went against his own teachings?

You know what these “God Bless America” people oughta do? They oughta check with that Jesus fellow they’re so crazy about.

They’re always talking about “What would Jesus do?” They don’t wanna know so they can do it – they just wanna know so they can tell other people to do it!

Well, I’ll tell you what Jesus would have done. I’ll tell you what Jesus would have done!

He would have gone up on the top of the Empire State Building and said:

“GOD BLESS EVERYONE AROUND THE WORLD, FOREVER AND EVER ’TILL THE END OF TIME!”

That’s what Jesus would have done, and that’s what these people should do, or else they should admit that “God Bless America” is really just some sort of an empty slogan, with no real meaning except for something vague like “good luck!”

Good luck, America! You’re on your own!… which is a little bit closer to the truth!”

~ George Carlin

Either you’re with God
Or you’re against God

“The whole image is that eternal suffering awaits, anyone who questions God’s infinite love.

That’s the message we’re brought up with, isn’t it? Believe or die! “Thank you, for giving Lord, for all those options.”

– Bill Hicks

Promise to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God.

As if God wasn’t busy enough, this all powerful all knowing invisible entity, besides already being pseudo responsible for everything, has, because of those 17 words been put in the position of being the unlikely defender of whether or not someone in a criminal court is putting words together in the proper sequence to be decided by at least 17 people as to if, that is the truth or not.

Before observing the judge handing down some recidivism prone ineffectual draconian sentence. In the frighteningly apt description of the realm in which all cases are tried.

The “Criminal” “Justice” system.

“Hello McFly”, “Criminal” system???

Wouldn’t want a fair or compassionate one, now would we.

“That might be something Christ would do.”

– George Carlin

Meanwhile…..

“Religion has actually convinced people that there’s an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do.

And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever ’til the end of time!.

But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He’s all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can’t handle money! “

– George Carlin

Wait, this gets worse before it gets better.
