Trapped @ Work
Is not normally a problem
However, with all my deliveries done
I was making my second to last pickup
75 miles from home and my honey
In the alley of the shipper
Across from a bar with a back patio
Behind the main street historic district
At about 1:30 in the afternoon
The lunch crowd was gone
Empty glasses clinking being removed
The temperature was perfect
Wafting in a slight breeze from the south
Was a sweet blend of
Barbecue sauce and Chris Stapleton
Blues-ing out Tennessee Whiskey
Wishing I was done and out of uniform
In comfortable jeans and a t shirt
Sharing and savoring the sensation
With my sweet – ums
Feeling the warmth of the
Sun and her smile on my face
Basking in both glows
With nary a care in the world
Save wanting those
Magical moments to last forever
Like when we were at a beach side bar
With no place to go and no where to be
Enjoying surf sounds and Jimmy Buffett
Some suds and succulent shrimp
