A “Story” To Be Told

We’ve got to

Make something up

This Jesus Christ

He walks on water

Not literally mind you

Or in actuality

Rather his thoughts and words

Are so pure

He floats above the fray

That is the stream

Of human consciousness

Trusting in the universe

That all will be okay

Here’s how this came about

Saw the following as a meme on fb

Just don’t know how to put it here

So here it is transcribed

Seems a worthy resolution

“This year, I want to be more like Jesus

– Hang out with sinners

– Upset religious people

– Tell stories that make people think

– Choose unpopular friends

– Be kind, loving and merciful

– Take naps on boats

And it got me to thinking

With a vague peripheral awareness

Mostly understanding the first five

With no clue where to find

In a bible the reference for

Jesus taking a nap on a boat

Then remembered

I can access my Google’d brain

Found this in the NIV

Mathew 8, 23-26

23Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.
25The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

Since that whole book is open to infinite interpretation, (here’s mine.)

“Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.”

Taken literally that sounds too magical. My guess, with JC being a teacher, merely used the situation of the winds and the waves, to teach.

That no matter what difficulties frighten or scare us, one’s that rock our boat (world) if we trust in the universe, everything will be alright.

There is a saying, alternately attributed to Buddha Siddhartha Guatama Shakyamuni and the Theosophists, that goes:

When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

Likewise the reverse must be true

If the students are not ready, the teacher will disappear.

Which I suspect more to be the case

For the historians to write that the teacher was martyred instead of disappearing.

Much more convenient to shirk responsibility that way, than admit that no one was following the teacher’s guidance.

Like be kind and love your neighbor.
