Just when I thought I am old enough

To start learning and remembering

People’s names with their faces

Along comes a public mandate

Suggesting everyone wear masks

Giving me the new built in excuse
When someone says Hi Angelo

I can safely say that I did not

Recognize them due to their

Face being all but covered

Hoping when they pull it off

They say….it’s me …..Tom

You know one of those really

Hard names to remember

As I write this makes me aware

That I am as self absorbed as

SpongeBob and ought to

Hang myself out to dry of my

Ego protected narcissism
