The Ironic Contrast

January 14, 2021

Of broadcasting the violence

At the Capital over and over

While censoring the “curse”

Words with bleep bleep bleep

.

What are we five years old?

No wonder our evolution

Stopped at opposable thumbs

.

Must be more afraid of words

That may actually ignite a

Dialog of clarity and understanding

.

I’d rather hear and or see

Every vile and supposedly

Disgusting word in any context

.

Then witness and hear

The bloodshed and screams

Of humans at their most

Capricious cold hearted reptilian

Brutal primal ignorant nature

.

Incited by a malignant narcissist

Drowning in a deep bleak pool

Of egosyntonic reflection

.

“People much wiser than I am, have said, “I’d rather have my son watch a film with two people making love than two people trying to kill one another.”

.

– George Carlin
