Weekend Prescription

I do not prescribe to the
Mass indoctrinated notion
That annually society honors
People who kill people
.
Which then filters itself
Into the entire year as a
Thoughtless mindless cliché
Of “Thank a vet”
.
Just to be clear
.
My uncle and my best friend
Were Marines
.
For that was their * “calling”
.
My uncle’s calling
To my best perception / understanding
(He’s dead now)
Is that he was an unruly child
.
So, since he had unfit parents
.
They (yes, grandpa and grandma)
Sent him off to military school
.
You know “military school”
.
Where sergeants can take that
Unfettered rambunctious energy
Focus it into dictated discipline
To follow orders unquestioningly
.
So instead of getting into fights
“Disobeying” authority (parents)
.
Society’s prescription is to
Take that wild free spirit
Make it into a commanded killer
.
(Wouldn’t want to teach the little #ucker
To paint or create and build something)
.
Or as I like to call it
A post natal out of the womb
Abortion doctor
.
Anybody else see this correlation?

Man, am I getting off my own track

My best friend’s * “calling” was
To my best perception / understanding
Being a Marine
Due to the daily weekly
Daddy discipline of a detached father
Who was also a Marine
.
Into living with the nightly nightmares
Of the faces of the people he killed
At……the government’s direction
.
And I nearly joined as well
Except I’m a big pussy who
Doesn’t want to kill people
Or see people killed
.
Certainly not at the behest
Of an untrustworthy authority
Who would be deciding who it is
I might be killing
.
(It would be illegal if I chose
Yet, “patriotic” if they choose
I am so confused over that
Murderously fine line)
.
Because perhaps the “enemy” might
Be on the wrong land at the wrong time
With a resource under their feet
That some criminal corporation
.
Tells the government in order to
Get this resource
(oil, lanthanum, cobalt, tungsten)
Even cheaper than just “buying” it
.
Needs some mercenaries to
Occupy the land and kill civilians
Ooops I meant “neutralize”
.
So they can process it
Into an energy source
.
However, if the masses understood
This process of acquisition
They might object and find a
Peaceful solution (#uck that)
“That’s” too expensive
.
Best sell that notion under
The guise of “freedom” and “democracy”
“Flag waving” “truth” (HA) and “justice”
.
Demonizing and dehumanizing people
So murder can be justified
With false pretenses
.
Or just be happy they get
A three day weekend
To unwind from the grind
(A furlough from the “man”)
Get drunk and eat excess
Slaughtered cows and pigs
.
Geez, I wonder why we are
Always so bloodthirsty????
