Believe You Me
“Now, believe is a word that I have a serious problem with, right, because it has a “Lie” in the middle.
“DNA” Descendant Now Ancestor
– John Trudell
.
I know what my beliefs are
.
Stupid and malleable as
They are based on nothing
Other then what I’ve
Conjured them up to be
.
Through discernment and
Adaption from a wide variety
Of resources, information
Rumor, heresay, illusion
Books, lyrics, comedians
Broadcasters, scholars
Idiots and morons
.
Therefore the last thing
I would want to try to do
Is instill them on others
Through idioms and innuendo
.
In order to assume that
Someone hopefully agrees
With them to validate their
Non existence existence
.
That I too may be valid and
“Feel” a sense of belonging
To a group so large that it
Collectively is considered one
.
Instead of what many people do
Which is to congregate in groups
With perceived notions assuming
That their beliefs are similar enough
That they can indoctrinate others
Into believing the same thing so as
A group their existence is justified
.
By separating from the entire group
To hold opposing beliefs of others
Whilst searching for an identity within
The group because their beliefs “match”
.
Wouldn’t want to believe the obvious that
We are all one collective consciousness
.
Why……because there is no money in that
.
(Ooops, that’s my belief)
.
Don’t take these words for it
Look deep deep deep within
.
“I just think it is interesting to see how people act on their beliefs you know what I mean. Because your beliefs are just that, they are just how you were taught and raised. That doesn’t make them real.”
.
– Bill Hicks
.
Beliefs seem to be the ethereal adhesives
Contrasting to hold this chaos together
.
“The decay and disintegration of this culture is astonishingly amusing if you are emotionally detached from it.
I have always viewed it from a safe distance, knowing I don’t belong; it doesn’t include me, and it never has. no matter how you care to define it, I do not identify with the local group.
Planet, species, race, nation, state, religion, party, union, club, association, neighborhood improvement committee; I have no interest in any of it.
I love and treasure individuals as I meet them, I loathe and despise the groups they identify with and belong to.”
– George Carlin
