Are We There Yet
Still tripping from
Terrence McKenna’s Audio Book
“Food Of The God’s”
“I’m glad mushrooms are against the law, because I took them one time, and you know what happened to me?
I laid in a field of green grass for four hours going, “MY GOD! I LOVE EVERYTHING.”
Yeah, now if that isn’t a hazard to our country … how are we gonna justify arms dealing, when we realize that we are all one?”
//
How are we gonna keep building nuclear weapons, you know what I mean?
What’s gonna happen to the arms industry when we realize we’re all one?
IT’S GONNA FUCK UP THE ECONOMY.
The economy, that’s fake anyway.
Which would be a real bummer, you know
You can see why the government’s cracking down…
…on the idea of experiencing unconditional love.”
— Bill Hicks
Methinks one could chop up the book
Roll it up in rolling papers and smoke it
To use the words to achieve a high, or
Grind it into a fine powder and snort it
I enjoy driving more than am willing to risk
The consequences of losing my job
Due to ingesting natural substances
That might alter my consciousness
Mushrooms grow on cow turds. I love that. I think that’s why you giggle the first hour.”
— Bill Hicks
However, just listening to the book
Has altered how I perceive things
Therefore it is not the use of “drugs”
That create the psychedelic experience
It is the brilliant use of words in context
That seem to be altering my reality
May have to re-listen for another dose
Or read it, to take it in a different way
There is no “there” to arrive at
On whatever trip you or I take
Merely other experiences to be had
Since there is no death
What could possibly go wrong
One laid out clearly that the
Dominator* unnatural culture
Surrounding our “self’s” / “selves”
Is but a tiny fraction of what
Could be experienced by both
Subjective and objective minds
*
Could have used the term male dominator, Which it is, however, it is still more the
Genderless aspect outside of our spirit
That we allow ourselves to be controlled
By religions, medias, banks, corporations,
Food and pharmaceutical greed industries
Local and national government’s “rule of law”
Simply due to their subtle passive lifelong
Generation after generation indoctrinations
Of how to behave, utilizing herd morality
As the darkened guiding light we follow
Which has zero similarities to nature,
Balance or evolutionary determinism
Put that in your pipe and smoke it
During a Howard Stern interview with Doug Stanhope, the discussion of ayahuasca came up, revealing, Robin Quivers in a shamanic ritual, experienced the hallucinogen as well.
Neither, could seem to articulate what occured, yet, between Robin and Doug, there was such a palpably audible wink and a nod, of separate but shared experiences, that must have been known, but indescribable.
Leaving a short, albeit lingering “dead” air space to ponder, what occured.
Like maybe they both experienced deep down on a cellular level, that things / life as the rest are experiencing it, is definitely not as it seems.
“Just an observation,
Maybe I need
Different glasses.”
– Angelo Devlin
“If you want to understand a society, take a good look at the drugs it uses. And what can this tell you about American culture? Well, look at the drugs we use.
Except for pharmaceutical poison, there are essentially only two drugs that Western civilization tolerates: Caffeine from Monday to Friday to energize you enough to make you a productive member of society, and alcohol from Friday to Monday to keep you too stupid to figure out the prison that you are living in.”
– Bill Hicks
