Tattered
Your flag is tattered
As your patriotism wanes
With each thread that unravels
Loosening your grip
Of what you hold on to
Due to your dichotomous display of
Old Glory waving from a tiny monster truck
Absorbing road filth and corrosive salt
Which is neither illuminated at night
Or given its alleged respect
Taking the passive aggressive
Alternative route equivalent to
Stomping and burning the flag
Is the message of the shredded symbolism
Wouldn’t you think that the
Patriotism police would self monitor
This abhorrent behavior??
Perhaps they are to distracted with all
The malignant macho messages
Of pledging allegiance to their decaying flag
Saying they support the thin blue line
Until they get pulled over for speeding
Or that they will give up their guns
When pried from their cold dead hands
Hands used to place flat vinyl stickers on
Their back window of AK 47 silhouettes
And Let’s Go Brandon decals or lame rhymes
Next time we won’t be defeated
If our candidate is not cheated
(If these drivers are parents, think of the
Poor sportsmanship they are portraying
To their offspring, if you don’t win be a victim)
Anyway, could not catch up to the driver, disrespecting the flag, to remind him of…..
US Flag Codes
(b)
The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.
//
(e)
The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.
//
(k)
The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.
Nope, it will get tattered untill it is discarded.
Ooops.

Maybe I need

Brilliant. Couldn’t we just broadcast your message?

As soon as you find Kenneth’s frequency. *Or Karen’s.
* R.E.M. “What is the frequency Kenneth?”
(for a short time, “Kenneth” also became a term used for a clueless person).
