Point Less
Like the entirety of this blog. Pointless.
Oddly claimable, out of context
Psalm 33 12
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
Saw this, not on a bumper sticker, rather, a covering half the truck tailgate sticker. The other half was covered with some MAGA megalomaniac message.
Are egos so fragile, that in order for an individual to scrape and claw for their perception and scraps of their own divinity, they feel compelled to purchase adhesive based vinyl placarding with printed wavy flag backgrounds, to express something that was never intended for the occupiers of this country in the first place?
Coercing the occupants in following vehicles to consider that the driver of the truck ahead of them is so special he is to be considered a beneficiary of God’s own inheritance?
Why would anyone do that, or express that to everyone, let alone, believe it is true?
When further minimal research reveals the context to include everybody on the planet.
Psalm 33 13-14
13 The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. 14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
“Let me tell you something folks, God Does not give a flying fuck about America, ok? He doesn’t care. He never cared about this country. He never has. He never will. He doesn’t care about this country any more than he cares about Mongolia, Transylvania, Pittsburgh, the Suez Canal or the North Pole. He simply doesn’t care, ok.
Listen, there are 200 countries in the world, do these people honestly think God is sitting around picking out his favorites?
Why would he do that?
Why would God have a favorite country? And why would it be America of all the countries? Because we have the most money? Because he likes our national anthem? Maybe it’s because he heard we have 18 delicious flavours of classic Rice-O-Ronie?
It’s Delusional Thinking.
If these people believe in God, they must have heard that God Loves Everyone, and he loves them equally. So why would these people ask God to do something that goes against his own teaching? Maybe they ought to check with that Jesus fella. They’re always talking about “What would Jesus do”?
They don’t want to know so they can do it, they just want to know so they can tell other people to do it.”
