Enough
Unfortunately only
Just enough
Daily distractions
To disturb docility
But never enough to
Reinvigorate revolution
But there is no “They” to blame
Save to look into the mirror
Knowing one does not
Like what one sees
Decides to point a finger
At the imperfections
That “need” to be changed
When instantaneously
The other’s finger is
Pointing to the person
That really really needs
To be the one changing
The fingers go down
The fists get clenched
Faces get angrier
Arms start swinging
Connections never make
Like shadow boxing
Everyone in each mirror
Is worn the f@&k out
Exhausted falls asleep
Literally, physically
Metaphorically
Un / consciously
Because they have had
Enough
Nary to recognize
All the world’s indeed a stage
And we are merely players
Performers and portrayers
Each another’s audience
Outside the gilded cage”
– Rush
“I’m starting with the man in the mirror
I’m asking him to change his ways
And no message could’ve been any clearer
If they wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at (my)self and then make a change”
– Michael Jackson
