Victimless Victims
Have a need to attack
Not because they’re hurt
But rather to distract
As a strange way to
Keep their dignity intact
Away from their shame
So lost in obscurity
It doesn’t have a name
Because for some reason
They are without blame
Pointing across the street
To someone, too far away
Nor will they ever meet
Causing some kind of harm
That they will easily repeat
A universal bogeyman
They know doesn’t exist
Yet in a victim’s mind they can
If for no other reason
It brings them attention
Forgetting the question
What would Jesus do
The answer an easy one
Check if they are hungry
Then feed them some
Or see them move in skelter
Might try and help them
To seek warm shelter
Since Jesus did not teach to
Do nothing but point a finger
The takeaway from this poem
Is do not be a victimless victim
No one wants to hear you moan
An easy way to solve this is to
Turn off the TV when you get home
