Experience
In an ongoing search for
Truth in reality and
Reality in truth
Arriving at an
Elusive conclusion
It would appear as though
The only permanent thing
We are here for
As sentient beings
In anthropomorphic form
Is to experience experiences
For the sole / soul purpose
Of experiences themselves
Not for love or money
Or the love of money
Karma or justice
Religions or atheism
Happiness or sadness
Wealth or poverty
Praise or blame
Inquisition or enlightenment
Intention or “accident”
Reincarnation or not
No lesson to be learned
No fact to be remembered
No proof to be proven
No prize to be kept
No trophy to display
No badge to be worn
Simply experience
History will show nothing
Of our experiences in any
Book, file, or hard drive
In the eons of infinity
What we think we are
Tracking here on earth
Of scores and outcomes
Winners and losers
Failures and successes
Saints and sinners
Bums and billionaires
Printed on paper or stored
Magnetically or digitally
Will have vanished in the
Ethereal vacuum of space
It already has
Whatever you have done
Is back “there”
Wherever “there” is now
While in this lifetime
You may recall bits and pieces
But never in the exact same way
It occurred as it happened
For that experience is
Lost in the spins and trajectory
Of a fragile pale blue dot
Hurling through the cosmos
If we were to look as deep
Within ourselves as we do
The cosmos and infinity
We would find the same thing
Nothing……. and everything
It all depends on perception
Since there is no separation
From the whole of infinity
No fingers to point
No blame to cast
No elation of freedom
No fear of tyranny
Simply experience
For the sake of
Experience
“If you can just get your mind together
Then come on across to me
We’ll hold hands, and then we’ll watch the sunrise
From the bottom of the sea
But first, are you experienced?
Or have you ever been experienced?
Well, I have
I know, I know you probably scream and cry
That your little world won’t let you go
But who in your measly little world
Are you trying to prove that
You’re made out of gold and, uh, can’t be sold?
So uh, are you experienced?
Have you ever been experienced?
Well, I have
Ah, let me prove it to you
Trumpets and violins I can, uh, hear in the distance
I think they’re calling our names
Maybe now you can’t hear them, but you will, ha-ha
If you just take hold of my hand
Oh, but are you experienced?
Have you ever been experienced?
Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful. “
– Jimmy Hendrix
Trying to be conscious
Of each moment of experience
As something experienced
“All of that
Which has reality
Has no basis
In reality. “
– Angelo Devlin
Love this, Angelo! Very profound and at the same time so clear. I absolutely resonated with your words/poem! This part in particular says it all:
“For the sole / soul purpose
Of experiences themselves”
Thank you for sharing. Light and blessings to you, my friend 🙏 🌟
