Caught Off Guard
By my own last
Smug blog post
Thinking that I
Was separate from
My own reality, the
Prince of perception
King of consciousness
Master of my mind
Then it dawned on me
Like the morning sun
I, too, believe things
That may not be true
But go on as if they are
Regurgitating them to
Myself, as if they are real
Factual not false like
They are my shining star
Which is arrogant
Down to its core
Reminding me that
I have to question
So much more
“Reality can not be
Properly checked
In an echo chamber.”
– Angelo Devlin
Thank you for reminding us that we all have to question our own reality and dig deeper into why some things “seem” more true than other things. Especially if we have no proof of either. What is our preference teaching us about our own philosophy? What tenet of our own belief is pushing us down one path over the other? Also, who do we grant authority (that is to say, why do we believe this source and not that one?)
Consciousness rules! Isn’t it fun we can read and write and somehow play with thoughts even across the world?
Thank you Angelo for always helping us wake up.

I can not remember what caught my attention to write this. However, while trying to think of what it was, a myriad of other examples popped into mind. Then, I figured, had best humble myself over the arrogance that it only happens to other people.
Thanks for reading.
