Stories

Need a leaping off point

To hook the audience

Books, radio, TV,  movies

Plays, documentaries, etc,

Knowing there is not

Much difference between

A fairytale and a trucker’s tale

One begins with

Once upon a time

The other starts with

You ain’t gonna believe this shit

But as the stories go

At some point, are either

Made up entirely or

Based loosely on a truth of

Someone’s subjective perspective

However believable, it does not

Make them necessarily true

Which is the whole point of a

Good story to trigger imaginations

Where their existence resides

Consider that nothing exists permanently

Everything is an adaptation of

What it was before, based on

Molecular structures and combining

Different atoms, protons, and neutrons

In cooperation with their subatomic particles

That to my best understanding

Never actually touch each other

Does anyone really think that

“A long time ago in a Galaxy far, far away”

There was an evil empire or a rebel base?

Where everyone spoke English even though

It only appeared on this planet 1500 years ago

No, of course not, but it sets the stage

For a compelling yet universal story

The same goes for “In the beginning.”

Or at the point of the “big bang”

Are just story primers, because

Otherwise, there is no “story” to tell

Knowing everything is happening all at once

It goes on forever and has always existed

Where is the fun in that, no story, since

Everything is happening all at once

Even by just adding the word expansion

Into the void of nothingness, stars,

Planets, black holes, galaxies, light years

Is a point of demarcation to tell a story

As incorrect, improbable, and unprovable

That it might be, seeing how it is only theoretical

Contracting could also be used

Since there is no absolute proof of either

Save theories by theorists

That is all I am doing here, theorizing

From my subjective perspective of the whole

If an author writes a murder mystery

For the sake of finding whodunnit

No one (hopefully) was actually murdered

However, bipedal earthling artists are

Intrigued to test their sleuthing skills

Building stories outside of the author’s intent

Of who did what to whom and why

Was it love, money, jealousy, revenge,

There is always a justification if you

Look deep enough or make up your own

It would seem then that

The whole point of a story

Is for the experience to

Have the experience and

Alter how each moment

Plot twist or engaged

Characters reveal the story

No story could start from

A non-existent beginning

There is always an unintended

Prequel that precedes it

Later, it was filled in as a backstory as

The story is being told / read / watched

No two people experience the story

The same, as their subjective perspective

Deviates based on their own perceptions

Why the characters behave how they do

Is essentially infinitely different to

The observer or experiences had

From → Bible, Paradox, random
