I Am In Awe

Of the reality

Of our virtual reality

No headset is required

No Bluetooth pairing

No charging necessary

(Although sleep helps)

Just the contents in

The cranium case

Sensing everything

Sight and sound

Taste and touch

Plus hearing, which

Does not always

Include external ears

(You are probably not

Reading this out loud

And yet you hear it)

See if VR can do that




Of course, this reality

Is virtual, how can it not be

Molecules are zipping around

Doing their thing

Congregating into perceived mass

When not disguised as waves

Experienced by five senses

For the whole

Or individuals in the collective

To experience experiences

Besides those miracles going on

Individuals somehow have memories

Intentions to intend to find answers

Creating questions for more questioning

You, me, us, and we have perceptions

Of reality, yet not any are, or can be exactly the same

No matter how close experiences are experienced

The background to those are different and varied

All because no two things can occupy

The same space at the same time

I did not make up those rules

But apparently, it seems to be the case



The VR devices, screens, headsets, gloves, etc

For all of their seemingly surreal sensations

Pale, pale in the consciousness comparison of

Opening one’s eyes to see the world around

Watching a sunrise as the cool night air fades

Feeling the gental rising of temperature while

Seeing shadows appear and dissappear

Hearing unseen birds chirp in the distance

Without speakers, wires, or headphones

Standing barefoot on a dewey lawn as one

Raises a hot cup of coffee to their mouth

Smell the fresh aroma of roasted beans

Shipped from distant lands in containers

Now, that is a real virtual reality of which

No man-made contraption can compete




As I tap the screen to type this nonsense

I know there is no actual physical connection

Just sensations that feel to be, you know, real

Like Michaelangelo’s man’s hand to God

No matter how close, will never connect

But still close enough to be miraculous



So next time you are incited into purchase

Rent, borrow, or try some external alleged VR

Save your money expressing that you are

Already in awe of the real virtual reality

You are constantly experiencing each moment
