Most Of The World

Comes to me

Through my ears

Reality floats in

Through the

Auditory canal

Both externally

And internally *

*

(For a while now, I have been recognizing the miracle of being able to hear my voice without internal ears. At least none that I’ve ever read or “heard” about. You?

Then it dawned on me one morning that those internally non-existent ears are picking up words and sounds from a non-existent larynx.

Wow. Simply wow.

Even though I am always a doubter and questioner, I did very little research because all it took to prove my hypothesis was to read the following sentence. “I wonder if I spoke this to myself while holding my breath, if I could hear it. The answer is yes. Then I tried to speak it again outloud while holding my breath.

Nope, nothing, nada, probably just had a goofy look on my face, mouth agape, with absolutely no sound emanating forth. Cool, huh, come on, you know you tried it. Call me and tell me otherwise while holding your breath…………. Exactly. 😉

Without the visual cues

To distract my attention

I can absorb information

Ironically more objectively

Trusting my intuition

It’s probably because I am like

A Neanderthal caveman

Who survives on instinct

Not relying on CNN

Caveman Neanderthal News

“You ever watch CNN for longer than, say, 20 hours in one day?

I gotta cut that out. Watch CNN. It’s the most depressing thing you’ll ever see, man.

“WAR, FAMINE, DEATH, AIDS, HOMELESS, RECESSION, DEPRESSION, WAR, FAMINE, DEATH, AIDS.”

“WAR, FAMINE, DEATH, AIDS, HOMELESS, RECESSION, DEPRESSION, WAR, FAMINE, DEATH, AIDS.”

(Dinosaurs, pterodactyls, drought, monsoons, no fire, cooking utensil shortage,  other cave dwellers.  Aaaaaauggggg)

Then you look out your window – (crickets chirping) – where’s all this shit going on, man?

Ted Turner is making this shit up.”

– Bill Hicks

“Then you look out your window (windshield) while hearing “WAR, FAMINE, DEATH, AIDS, HOMELESS, RECESSION, DEPRESSION”.

I can see that essentially, none of that is occurring from my point of view. Bill Hicks was right, Ted Turner’s former corporation and the Murdoch family are making this shit up. Then everyone else goes along with some altered version because it increases viewership, therefore revenue.  Duh.

People want to be afraid. It is practically the only stimulation they can feel in their humdrum daily repetitious lives. My life is just as humdrum and repetitious. However,  I am stimulated by contemplations of the quantum mechanics of how the collective agreed to participate in such a ruse of fantasy and foreboding?

The linguistic fear is bleeding into other forms of blanket societal communication. Now, the weather channel is always issuing bleak widespread allegedly potential danger.

“Red Flag Warning” or “Red Fire Danger”

Oh shit, I better read that. Only to find out there are “thunderstorms” in “your” area, and lightning struck thirteen miles from your location.

Me: I hope it gets closer, I’m waiting for that big bolt of lightning to split the sky to maybe get a glimpse of an adjacent ancient dimension or future one.

As a kid, you knew to sit by the window in anticipation. As the sky got darker, the moisture increased, while the folks vaguely suggested not to do that. Which made it even more exciting.

Unfortunately, the social wording of the same events seems to be triggering the youth and probably many adults to be exhaustively alert, even though every spinning plate is already full of core concerns.

“Listen to your heart,
It knows right from wrong,
Let it guide you,
Listen to your heart,
It will make you strong,
Look inside of yourself and listen,
Listen to your heart.

You sure looked defeated,
When you came home tonight,
I know that you’re discouraged
And tired of the fight,
Sometimes, it gets so hard that you don’t know what to do,
If you close your eyes, the truth is there for you …

Listen to your heart,
It knows right from wrong,
Let it guide you,
Listen to your heart,
It will make you strong,
Look inside of yourself and listen,
Listen to your heart.

There are so many temptations in the crazy world today,
And there are so many people tryin’ to lead you astray,
Whenever you’re confused about all the things you see,
You can’t tell a friend from the enemy.

Listen to your heart,
It knows right from wrong,
Let it guide you,
Listen to your heart,
It will make you strong,
Look inside of yourself and listen,
Listen to your heart,
Listen to your heart,
It knows right from wrong,
Let it guide you,
Listen to your heart,
It will make you strong,
Look inside of yourself and listen,
Listen to your heart.

    “People want to be afraid.”

I think you’re on to something big there!

Life has gotten so safe (check out your local playground – impossible to get hurt – everything’s bubble wrapped, any drug you want so you don’t have to feel pain – physically or emotionally) that they have to dream up versions of danger to react to. We’re wired for danger! Bring on the sabertooth tigers! Poisonous snakes and toxic plants that we had to sample before we knew whether it was food or not.

I wonder if the news is providing the nervous system with something to react to since nothing in one’s life gives them that thrill.
