The Quantum Nuances
Of any given experience
Are so fleeting
It would behoove one
Not to contemplate
Otherwise, one might
Find themselves
Curled in a fetal position
Wailing tragically and
Gnashing their teeth
Babbling exhaustively at
The mere contemplation
That everything is either
An illusion or reality
Just as much as it is
Waves or particles
Depending on how or
When it is observed
Understanding atoms
Are deadless energy
Microscopic molecules
Made up of quarks, neutrinos
And mostly empty space
Zipping around rapidly
Coagulating as humans
Vegetables, minerals, or animals
Planets, stars, galaxies, nebula
And even more empty space
While holding both temporary
And permanent memories
Temporary as in what you
May have had for lunch “yesterday”
Permanent as in what you did
A thousand lifetimes ago
Quantum Mechanics:
a theory of matter that is based on the concept of the possession of wave properties by elementary particles, that affords a mathematical interpretation of the structure and interactions of matter on the basis of these properties, and that incorporates within it quantum theory and the uncertainty principle
— called also wave mechanics”

Whew…
Put that in your pipe,
…….. and don’t smoke it.
The tricky part is accepting
That what was once
Many grains of sand
Soda ash and limestone
All originally very opaque
Having been heated is
Now very clearly translucent
As a windshield, holding back
Wind, rain, snow and insects
Seemingly solid to perform
Its duties in the agreed to
Mind construct of reality
Still made up of molecules
Whirling around in their new role
Moving while moving through
Space and time, also linearly
Once back there, now here
Yet essentially, no where
For if it were not being observed
It is not really “here” is it?
“All of that
Which has reality
Has no basis
In reality”
– Angelo Devlin
Now, if I could just find a place
To pull over and “curl” up…….
To contemplate quantum nuances
Contemplating quanta!! That’s a good hobby. And even better profession (such as you do).
Imagine a gigantic library and librarian that is dutifully acknowledging every glance of every quark, every neutrino, every thought and feeling, and an entire hall of actions taken and those not taken. The history of the entire existence puddling up in one big library of love.
That awareness seems to make each nanosecond that much more precious.
Thank you for your promptings!!
