Stolen from humanity

In the form of blanket praise
Laid bare in mindless clichés
Thanking people for their
Oddly enough..  unknown service

Just for being in the military
When some may have signed up
To get their college paid for
Or just carrying on a family tradition
Or felt like there was no other choice
Or found a legal way to kill people
Under the guise of democracy

Who knows it is not for me to decide
But as it has become a growing thread
In the fabric of a violent society
That is when it becomes a problem

Impeding our evolution to become
A peaceful enlightened species
Part of each individual’s birthright

With daily slogans and financial reward
To a government group of people
Whose primary objective is to train
People to prepare to kill other people
Mostly for wearing a different hat

Twice now in less than 30 days
I’ve been through some airports
Flying on different company airlines
That have adopted similar policies

To give priority boarding access
After the announcer of the flight
Sticks to the script of gratitude

“At this time we will be boarding
The people who paid a lot extra
To get to the same place you are
At the same time with more leg room
That have the same risk of dying
If we crash blah blah and those
Veterans and active duty military”

In a society that also pretends
To give homage to fetus carriers
Though some have simply become
Brood mares for the state since it
Is unlawful to remove the package
Before it gets delivered unwanted

Don’t you think a single parent

(With two kids in tow trying to
Escape an abusive relationship
From a spouse suffering from
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Developed that disorder because

Their government told them
It would bring taxpayers freedom
When instead they discovered they
Were just murderous mercenaries
Hired to do their dirty work)

Ought to get on the plane first
So they can settle in and cast
One less anxiety aside trying
To compete with passengers
Rushing to sit down and……..wait

Let us put our money
Where our mouth is

Better yet (money doesn’t exist)

Let us put our mind
Where our collective mind
Says it is

If this or any society continues
To propagate the widespread notion
That it is “honorable” to kill people
We will only get more people
To kill more and more people

I don’t care who gets on first
Quite frankly it should be by
The last rows first so it goes quicker
Instead of assholes and elbows
Waiting for someone too short
To cram in a carry-on that will not fit
In the overhead compartment
(Forget policy, physics won’t allow it)

Hope you enjoyed this rant so far
Unfortunately it keeps going

At the fuel island franchises
Where I fuel they too offer discounts
To veterans and active duty military
Not saying they do not deserve it

(Just thought of this… maybe they
Are offered a discount because
They did not get their cut of what
They helped steal in the first place)

However would not the motoring
Public be better served if they offered
Discounts for exemplary driving

Show us your safety pin or wear your
Two million mile safe driving jacket

Get a tiny fraction off of a product
Which price is so jacked up
We will still make a huge profit.  Thanks.

Or be subjected to bad brainwashing
