No One Is Qualified
“There isn’t a way things should be. There’s just what happens, and what we do.”
Terry Pratchett
That being said…..
No one is qualified
To do an alleged job
No one “should” want
To do in the first place
By campaigning to
Everyone they can that
They themselves can do it
Having, for the most part
Never done it before
Exemplifying the Peter principle
Rising to the one’s level
Of incompetence and staying there
For four years at at a time
To singularly guide
A nation of consumers
Into consuming more
“It’s the economy, stupid.”
– James Carville
By satiating a fragile ego
Weakened by an inferiority complex
That they will soon occupy
The most powerful office
In the world and sit smugly
Behind a resolute desk
To wield their whims and wishes
When not being puppeted by the
Puppeteers who got them in there
“If voting made any difference they wouldn’t let us do it.”
― Mark Twain
Just for shits and giggles, suppose someone was elected US President who was morally and ethically squeaky clean. No skeletons in any closet, all waiting to jump out on inauguration day. Confusing expectations of the American consumer.
As soon as some corporation needed a resource in another region of the globe and needed some military “assistance” to depopulate the area, with guns and bombs.
Usual under the guise of defeating some “ism” form of government, that is not democracy. Or under the illusion of feeding starving people.
They would immediately become an untouchable mob boss with blood dripping from their hands after sending in soldiers to do the dirty work. Try as they might, to find a peaceful solution.
“I have this feeling man, ’cause you know, it’s just a handful of people who run everything, you know … that’s true, it’s provable. It’s not … I’m not a fucking conspiracy nut, it’s provable.
A handful, a very small elite, run and own these corporations, which include the mainstream media.
“I have this feeling that whoever is elected president, like Clinton was, no matter what you promise on the campaign trail – blah, blah, blah – when you win, you go into this smoke-filled room with the twelve industrialist capitalist scum-fucks who got you in there.
And you’re in this smoky room, and this little film screen comes down … and a big guy with a cigar goes, “Roll the film.”
And it’s a shot of the Kennedy assassination from an angle you’ve never seen before … that looks suspiciously like it’s from the grassy knoll.
And then the screen goes up and the lights come up, and they go to the new president,
“Any questions?”
“Er, just what my agenda is.”
“First we bomb Baghdad.”
“You got it …”
– Bill Hicks
As a hypothetical situation, if everything was absolutely transparent and honest. If the council of the twelve industrialist capitalist scum-fucks, held a press conference to declare, that gasoline will be $14.00 a gallon (that’s $13.999 to you and me) unless a war is started, people will get killed. Innocent lives will be lost, would there really have been any more protests? Probably not.
Because looking back at either Iraq wars, or the alleged attempt to feed starving people in Somalia, that is essentially what happened by oil family Bush businesses. With a little help from their friends, like Haliburton, Blackwater, etc.
“Blood On The World’s Hands”
“Sometimes it makes me wonder
Sometimes it makes me question
Sometimes it makes me saddened
Always it makes me angry but…
When you can see it happening
The madness that’s all around you
Nobody seems to worry
The world seems so powerless to act…
It’s out of control
Blood on the world’s hands
Each day a new toll
Another assassination
The same day a new creation
But what are they coming into
Security of a world that brings…
One day another killing
Somewhere there’s someone starving
Another a savage raping
Meanwhile there’s someone
Laughing at us
It’s out of control
Blood on the world’s hands
Each day it goes on
Brutality and aggression
Tomorrow another lesson
Expecting another air raid
Praying for a ceasefire
They say things are getting better
No need to be complacent
There’s chaos across the border
And one day it could be happening to us
It’s out of control
Blood on the world’s hands
It’s our epitaph
It’s out of control
Someone should know
Blood on the world’s hands
Someone Should”
– Iron Maiden
Someone “should” run for office
Though no one is qualified.
“Just an observation,
Maybe I need
Different glasses.”
– Angelo Devlin
