Are We There Yet

Still tripping from

Terrence McKenna’s Audio Book

“Food Of The God’s”

“I’m glad mushrooms are against the law, because I took them one time, and you know what happened to me?

I laid in a field of green grass for four hours going, “MY GOD! I LOVE EVERYTHING.”

Yeah, now if that isn’t a hazard to our country … how are we gonna justify arms dealing, when we realize that we are all one?”

//

How are we gonna keep building nuclear weapons, you know what I mean?

What’s gonna happen to the arms industry when we realize we’re all one?

IT’S GONNA FUCK UP THE ECONOMY.
The economy, that’s fake anyway.

Which would be a real bummer, you know

You can see why the government’s cracking down…
…on the idea of experiencing unconditional love.”

— Bill Hicks

Methinks one could chop up the book
Roll it up in rolling papers and smoke it
To use the words to achieve a high, or
Grind it into a fine powder and snort it

I enjoy driving more than am willing to risk
The consequences of losing my job
Due to ingesting natural substances
That might alter my consciousness

Mushrooms grow on cow turds. I love that. I think that’s why you giggle the first hour.”

— Bill Hicks

However, just listening to the book
Has altered how I perceive things
Therefore it is not the use of “drugs”
That create the psychedelic experience

It is the brilliant use of words in context
That seem to be altering my reality
May have to re-listen for another dose
Or read it, to take it in a different way

There is no “there” to arrive at
On whatever trip you or I take
Merely other experiences to be had
Since there is no death
What could possibly go wrong

One laid out clearly that the
Dominator* unnatural culture
Surrounding our “self’s” / “selves”
Is but a tiny fraction of what
Could be experienced by both
Subjective and objective minds

*
Could have used the term male dominator, Which it is, however, it is still more the
Genderless aspect outside of our spirit
That we allow ourselves to be controlled
By religions, medias, banks, corporations,
Food and pharmaceutical greed industries
Local and national government’s “rule of law”

Simply due to their subtle passive lifelong
Generation after generation indoctrinations
Of how to behave, utilizing herd morality
As the darkened guiding light we follow
Which has zero similarities to nature,
Balance or evolutionary determinism

Put that in your pipe and smoke it

During a Howard Stern interview with Doug Stanhope, the discussion of ayahuasca came up, revealing, Robin Quivers in a shamanic ritual, experienced the hallucinogen as well.

Neither, could seem to articulate what occured, yet, between Robin and Doug, there was such a palpably audible wink and a nod, of separate but shared experiences, that must have been known, but indescribable.

Leaving a short, albeit lingering “dead” air space to ponder, what occured.

Like maybe they both experienced deep down on a cellular level, that things / life as the rest are experiencing it, is definitely not as it seems.

“Just an observation,
Maybe I need
Different glasses.”

– Angelo Devlin

“If you want to understand a society, take a good look at the drugs it uses. And what can this tell you about American culture? Well, look at the drugs we use.

Except for pharmaceutical poison, there are essentially only two drugs that Western civilization tolerates: Caffeine from Monday to Friday to energize you enough to make you a productive member of society, and alcohol from Friday to Monday to keep you too stupid to figure out the prison that you are living in.”

– Bill Hicks

The Rules Of Symbolism

Make up the fabric of the symbol

Not the silly symbol itself

Otherwise……what it stands for

Stands for nothing

Save a colorful rag

Flapping in the breeze

While driving on the return leg of my run, from the meet and turn location, doing a drop and hook, after a post trip and pre trip inspection.

I was looking at the world through a windshield, minding my own business, wondering when the first early spring bug is going to commit suicide on the glass.

I saw a tractor trailer up ahead with what appeared to be an American flag, secured to the back door closing pole. That seemed downright un-American, in violation of several of the US flag codes.

Perhaps the rules have changed since I was a cub/boy scout, and was indoctrinated with the reverence that was to be held of the flag.

Both ascending up a mountain grade, got close enough for the attached picture. Just not fast enough to read the company name on the driver’s door.

While it occurred to me to catch up to the truck to identify the perpetrator of such violations, realized there was no one to call.

One that may or may not misconstrue my message and concern.

The closest “authority” being the highway patrol, but is flag desecration in their purview. Besides being way to busy doling out “fine” advice to drive safer.

Could call the local sheriff, except that jurisdiction could change at any time. Not to mention as they were going faster than me, could lose sight of them at anytime.

Maybe the V.F.W. or American Legion? What could they do, as I was losing ground quickly.

Cell phones have all but destroyed the last remnants of the art of anonymity. What if the person on the other end feels all gushy inside over any presence of a flag.

I am sure if I were questioned, what would emerge is a demented if not damaged psychological profile of a person whose do not give a shit meter was pegged eons ago.

“I consider them, I consider them to be symbols and I leave symbols to the symbol minded.”

– George Carlin

I audibly pictured a former drill instructor with the voice and mannerisms of Foghorn Leghorn.

Ring…..ring……ri…..

FL: V.F.W. How may I help you?

Me: I observed a flag…

FL: That’s good son, did you salute it?

Me: Well…no, it was…

FL: Were you standing at attention?

Me: Actually I was sitting.

FL: That is no way to respect the flag.

Me: Well, that is what this call is about

FL: What kind of pinko, commie, fascist, un-American, who sees the flag and doesn’t immediately stand and salute the flag, wishing to hug it, like our current president Donald has. Are you disabled son?

Were you wounded in combat?

Me: No, no, just wanted to let someone know someone attached an American flag to a pole…

FL: Are you suggesting it be taken down?

Me: Well, in a way, yes, it was soi….

FL: Next you will tell me it should be burned.

Me: Well, actually yes, because it is being frayed and tattered and disrespected by someone who thinks they are being patriotic, when they are not. It is on the back of a moving trailer going 70 mph, getting torn and wiping off dirt and corrosive road salt.

I even pulled over to a safe spot to search engine the U.S. flag code, which states.

4 U.S. Code § 8 – Respect for flag

No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.

(a)

The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

(b)

The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.

//

(e)

The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.

//

(k)

The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

FL: Nah, those rules no longer apply, just as long as the red white and blue are out there, you are a patriot.

Click.

Anyway, I was afraid no one would listen, so I posted it here.

“Just an observation,
Maybe I need
Different glasses.”

– Angelo Devlin

As a subsequent observation, isn’t it amazing that at some point, people gathered together, as a legislative body to write down rules of how to treat and respect a colorful cloth. Making it “Illegal” for “it” to be harmed.

But none to make sure all fellow space travelers are fed, clothed snd housed.

“Ever wonder why we’re #ucked up as a species?”

– Bill Hicks

No Good End

Nor bad end

Can come to something

That never ends

When whatever it is

Only changes shape

Due to fluctuating energy

Bouncing back and forth

To and fro from infinity

Disguised as matter

When it is only

Waves and particles

Depending

How they are viewed

In any given moment

Or sensed by senses

Made of the same

Waves and particles

Filtered by consciousness

In moments of perception

Engaged in linearly

By reverse divination

Deciphering

Meaning, cause and

Vague notions of

Reason and purpose

So perhaps

It is good

That it never ends

What would you do

“If Eternity Should Fail”*

If it did?

Mornglow

No words can describe
The silent beauty
Of the horizontal
Mornglow*(sunrise/archaic)
Viewed from the
Air ride seat behind
A clean windshield
Catching all stages
From the pre-dawn
Silent darkness
Of the fading light
Disappearing from
Vast distant suns
Not fading really
Just edged out
By the closest
One near us
Coloring the clouds
Without paint
Different every time**

*
Mornglow

The linguistic correction
To the long held misconception
Of the geocentric perception
We are / are in
The center of the universe

Which methinks mornglow “should”
Immediately be put in dictionaries
To kick-start our next evolution
Of self awareness of individual’s
Significance in their insignificance
That in the scheme of the cosmos
We are merely tiny specks of dust

“Growing in numbers
Growing in speed
I can’t fight the future
Can’t fight what I see

‘Cause people, they come together
People, they fall apart
And no one can stop us now
‘Cause we are all made of stars”

– Moby

“We Are All Made of Stars”

Perhaps the lexicographers
Can get right on that

Or at best it should be a sniglet

“Sniglet has been defined by American comedian Rich Hall as “a word that doesn’t appear in the dictionary but should.”

– thoughtco.com

Leave it to a comedian to expand awareness.

**
Had I used the word “day”
Would have eclipsed the point

“Time” iz fuzzy enough

A man made construct
To perceive reality linearly

Maybe I need
Different glasses.”

Instantaneously

In an instant

You wish your death

Would come ASAP

In the next moment

You are glad it did not

Somewhere

In the middle

Lies

The balance

Between life-and-death

Living………

……….Proof

“That everything is happening all at once.”

Do you notice, the local “convenience” stores with growing fuel pumps are burgeoning into the parking lots, excavating any last remnants of available land. Carrying low end products at high dollar prices.

(Recently saw a 9oz. bag of flavored pretzels for $8.99 making it nearly $ 16 a pound for cooked flour and butter covered in sugar. HF.)

Steaks do not cost that much and its main product has to be fed for years, auctioned off, transported, slaughtered, stored in a cold fly strewn warehouse, before ending up on a clean piece of styrofoam covered in plastic.

“We will pay the price
But we will not count the cost”

– Rush  “Bravado”

No wonder those convenience stores can keep expanding, in the space of what could be a small but reasonable grocery store.

Pound per pound, they are profiting off of pathetic products placed in pretty plastic packaging, instead of….

Carrying basics, like bread, eggs, milk, cheese, potatoes, flour, sugar, apples, bananas, carrots, pasta, crackers, butter, peanut butter, jam, coffee and wine.

Unlike “regular” grocery stores carrying seventeen styles sizes of generic and name branded stuff coming out of the same plant, with different packaging.

All to maintain the illusion of choice, jacking up the prices of everything, so more money can flow to corporations instead of staying in one’s pocket. Lit up in overly bright, temperature controlled mini warehouses.

Where one gets to work for free, for a few minutes, checking out the groceries, further blackening the corporate bottom line. Like with most jobs, getting little or no training.

Take a gander at any aisle, surrounding the product you are after, let’s say bread.

Bread.

Look at the excessive amounts of loaves, you have never even considered buying. Crazy.

Oh, look honey, this one has honey in it, this one has seven oates, (I’ll bet there is only five) look a flour dusting on top, wow, a split top, this ones thicker, whole wheat white, this one has raisins and….a cinnamon swirl. Look, gluten-free. Honey what is gluten?

“Too many choices America.
It’s not healthy.”

– George Carlin

That is just the regular grocery store. It is the really big shopping warehouse that offer extra challenges, such as dodge the three story forkift. Being offered samples by people who must have been carnival barkers. (Step right up folks and try this tiny piece of warm preservative filled food that the price includes covering my salary to stand here and cook.)

Not as many choices, however you can get your own vat of peanut butter, that sits long enough so the oil separates. Reconstituting it with a drill powered paint mixer.

Plus, buy books and a lifetime supply of socks and….a couch to sit on. To contemplate what purchase can be made next week.. Tires, jewelry, glue, computers or a ridiculously sized television. So you can stay glued to it while stuck on the new couch.

“Too many choices America.
It’s not healthy.”

– George Carlin

Never coming close to cogitating the reality that somewhere, someone is short on food.

“Thanksgiving.

Remember junior high school, high school, elementary school, “Everybody bring in your cans for the hungry people?”

Remember that?

Just imagine if somebody when you were in fifth or sixth grade, if the principal had the….. gonads to say on Monday,

“Children, it was the most single wonderful outpouring of generosity that this school has ever seen. More cans of food, feeding a hundred ninety three families, came to this school than ever before.

We only have one problem, and we’re going to deal with it this coming week. We’re going to cancel our regular classes and what we’re going to talk about is………what are those people going to eat………. next week?”

Now doesn’t that sound like a sensible educational system that dealt with those types of questions?”

– Harry Chapin

Nah, too many people would be….

Still Tripping

Just by listening to

Terrence McKenna’s

Audio Book

“Food Of The God’s”

This is not a book report, merely inspired writing, influenced by McKenna’s work.

Realizing besides the five senses

Or ten depending on who is counting*

The only way anything exists at all

Is through the sensory perceptions

And….the words for them

See, hear, smell, taste and touch

The better known senses, then beyond
Not necessarily in the following order

6th intuition – understand w/o reasoning
7th proprioception – body movement awareness
8th interoception – sensing the body internally
9th nocioception – the detection of “pain”
10th thermoception – sensing temperature

*There are more, but that is not what this is about.

My understanding is that if

There was no word for pain

It could not be experienced

Not the word pain specifically

Just any word describing it

Such as nocio, as in

I have a nocio in my back

Leave it to the bipedal earthling artists, to create new words to continue to create new words in a Michelangeloian depicted effort to not quite still touch the hand of God by deciphering every nuance of God. Which is the WORD.

And not the Sistene chapel ceiling Santa Clause caricature dude floating in the sky. Merely connecting to a divine power as individual bright sparks, tendency it is to do.

Always at the half-way point, regardless how close, yet never touching, for it is impossible for the subjective thinker to touch the whole as it is already part of the whole.

Like grasping at air inside a very large balloon, then realizing you are both the air and the balloon. Hope that makes sense.

“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:1

Methinks the genderless word for a God force, then ought be the word, Word, to guide us out of this Patriarchal Piscean BS age of dick fear, we are experiencing.

“Daddy” can not fix shit, he has not already broken. It is revulsive to our very nature to be so Word damned one sided.

Try this on for size.

The Word spake, love everyone as yourself.

Eliminating the he said, as if only male power has “authority”. Would it really matter, where that aphorism generated, if one recognized how important that is? Love your self, you are everyone. Oh scheisse, no money in that….

That is the power that the Word has

Omniscient & omnipotent by

The Word’s very existence

I am playing with words here, so play with me. If you seek “help” from God, then the mere utterance of help calls out to that God/Word force that will garner the assistance you need. ‘Stead of some invisible dude in the sky, ignoring everyone else’s prayers but yours and sometimes yours too.

“Sometimes I thank Word
For unanswered prayers
Remember when you’re talkin’
To the Word in there
That just because Word doesn’t answer
Doesn’t mean Word don’t care
Some of Word’s greatest gifts
Are unanswered prayers”

Apologies to Garth Brooks

In other words if there is no word for fire, then there is no fire. Nor water to put out the nonexistent fire.

I do not think I have ever read or heard a more communicative flow of words cutting through with such brevity and clarity covering the exposure of a mysterious topic.

Turning words themselves into mind bending substances capable of altering reality.

“Food Of The God’s” should be required reading in schools, not to encourage “drug” use, which it does not do. It encourages thinking that what is, may not be as it appears. Nor the “history” we’ve learned be the history that “was”.

Oh wait, it encourages thinking and that is not allowed in schools. Imagine that.

Praise be to the Word, for there is only one Word, which is made up of all the other words. Used to define and describe every aspect of the Word.

Dogs, cats, mountains, oceans, forests, trees, buildings, cities, deserts, valleys, schools, businesses, parents, children, cops, robbers, apples, bananas, thoughts, feelings, visions, concrete, abstract, lucidity, ignorance, enlightenment, etc.

Good bad, hot cold, short tall, hard soft, big little, birth death, bright dark, love indifference…….

And silence, which has no opposite, merely a quiet meditative tool to focus on one’s breathing to get in touch with the Word.

You would think, silence would have no word, because by reading/speaking it in your head…you “hear” it. Go ahead, re-read that, in silence.

Kind of like the dictionary definition for meaningless should be left blank________.

As if this wasn’t long enough.

“I love words. I thank you for hearing (reading) my** words.

I want to tell you something about words that I think is important.

They’re my work, they’re my play, they’re my passion.

Words are all we have, really. We have thoughts but thoughts are fluid.

Then we assign a word to a thought and we’re stuck with that word for that thought.

So be careful with words. I like to think that the same words that hurt can heal, it is a matter of how you pick them.

George Carlin’s prelude to his famous 7 word bit.

**
One more of these,

“In your own words.” You know you hear that a lot in a court room. Or a classroom, they’ll say “tell us… in your own words.”

“Do you have your own words? Hey, I’m using the ones everyone else has been using!

Next time they tell you to say something in your own words, say “Niq fluk bwarney quando floo!”

– George Carlin

I wish I knew where more than half, if not all of the above came from, I must still be tripping…..on Word’s words.

“Just an observation,
Maybe I need
Different glasses.”

– Angelo Devlin

Or perhaps different words.

Coldly Detached

Or simply a realist

Upon responding

To an inquiry of

The Ukrainian

War distraction

Of how it affected me

Which was nil

Other than a faint

Blip on the radar screen

But, but, but it may turn

Into world war three

Yeah….and……so…what

Which after mirroring

My own projections

(I’ll spare the boring details)

The inquirer realized it

Did not affect them either

Dawning on them that

It boiled down to…..

“I don’t mind about the war, it’s one of the things I like to watch, if it is a war going on. ‘Cause then I know then if our side is winning, if our side is losing.

Roger Waters

“What God Wants, part 1”

From “Amused To Death”

War or no war, I will do whatever it takes
To take care of my family
One of which is not expending
Any energy on something
I can do nothing about

Like if two squirrels were
Fighting in the forest over nuts
Who’s was whose or who
Had the “rights” to the nuts
Is not my concern

My guess is that maybe
The economy is faltering and
People are plum full exhausted
Of the perturbing pandemic and
In need of a different distraction
To maintain their wallets open
Keeping irrational fears at bay
With comforting consumption

Once distracted by scarcity to consume
Is replaced by better buy it now
While I’m still alive to purchase it
In case the latest bogeyman
Is around the corner with weapons
Gonna make me speak Russian
And buy useless shit with Rubles

“Just an observation,
Maybe I need
Different glasses.”

Alpha And Omega

The only beginning or end

To something is your perception

Of entering this dimension into

A vehicle to carry your soul

Through trials and tribulations

To learn to live laugh and love

While serving others who are

Trying to do the same thing

Before heading on to the next

Destination when this trip is done

Guess what?

Yes, do the same thing

To learn to live laugh and love

Over, over and over again and again

Playing with soul with other souls

On an infinite everlasting playground

Why would anyone want that to end

Kind of a spiritual lather rinse repeat

And as Bill Hicks said…..YES, YES!!!

PLAY FROM YOUR FUCKING HEART!!!
