Dichotomy

April 11, 2016

This dichotomous system we are living in,  may be the only one we know. However it is not the only one.

Good guys and the bad guys, some things never change, there’s Sheriffs in New York and Outlaws on the range.// I’m in jail with no bail, that old boys gone free, that’s how my sad story ends. We both broke the law, but its me who took the fall, seems the judge and him were fishing friends.

John Durill

A behavior that would be fair to eliminate, less of course you are friends with the “judge”. So not only is justice blind, seems rather corrupt, or at least corruptible.

It doesn’t have to be like this. all we have to do is make sure that we keep talking.

Stephen Hawking

I only say this because I can’t seem to stop looking at things from both sides .

My grandpa Al is from who I learned to understand both sides, he would tell “jokes” and instead of using “stereotypes” he would tell the same jokes using people from states.

For example,  did you hear the Californians started a war with Oregon by throwing a grenade across the border?

Do you know what the Oregonian ‘ s did? They pulled the pin and threw it back.

Yet,  being a hypersensitive little kid, thought that made the Californians sound not so smart, he simply explained that the Californians were telling the same joke in reverse. Ah, ha, so the point is to laugh because someone else is telling the same joke.

So,  after that I  assumed every one knew the same “rule” therefore nothing that is perceived offensive is, because it is a matter of context and content.

Recontextualize what may offend.  5FM

I would also learn that most people do not understand that rule and fail to have a sense of humor about themselves.

“Folks, it’s time to evolve. That’s why we’re troubled.

You know why our institutions are failing us, the church, the state, everything’s failing?

It’s because, um – they’re no longer relevant. We’re supposed to keep evolving.

Evolution did not end with us growing opposable thumbs.

You do know that, right?”

Bill Hicks

It may have been our nature to be brutal and violent however, with enlightened evolution, it doesn’t have to be.
